Cobalt brakes

I just read in Road and Track about the Cobalt SS having bigger brakes and rear disks. Could these parts fit the older Cavaliers? Is the Cobalt still 5X100? How big are the Cobalt SS brakes, anyone know? Would the rear disk brakes require the entire rear axle and, if so, is that a bolt up fit to Cavaliers?

I really don't know, but I very much doubt the suspension would swap. Even between generations of Js it doesn't swap very well.

I've already checked into it. Both cars have different bearings and hubs so I'd have to say no they won't just bolt on. You may be able to modify things to make it work. But a direct swap wont. Sorry.

The rear caliper bracket is welded to the axle.

I have no idea if the whole axle can be swapped.

/\ /\ /\ is right the caliper bracket is also the bracket that the hub assembly bolts on to.
So I guess if you could find a rear end cut off the brackets and weld them to your rear
then yes you could do it.
