They look good. Never knew they made rotors in black. Are they mounted backwards though?

are your sure they arent just painted?? cause eventually it will flake off and prevent you from braking...not a good hing
look cool though

they look just like my ebc rotors i have on my cav. and they are on the wrong side.
we had a big discusion about this about a month ago. the slotts should be slapping the ground not poking it. the ONLY rotors that poke are the ones where the holes are drilled all the way thru not just those little dimples. and they also dont have the slotts
only holes and the vains are also directional on them. just flip them they work better that way. and yes they are cool.

the post that goes into the whole thing is titled slotted rotor direction. and should be right under this post.

hope this helps.

well u know what the odd thing is my rotors didnt say anything on them as far as L and R. and iv seen ALOT of cavaliers with the rotors that way so i put them that way on . they stop fine for me

Yup rotors are on backwards.

And the black is a protective tint, it will come off. BUT it will not effect your braking, Because the pads are always incontact with your rotors when you stop. If anything was to make your brakes not work right Would be the lack of surface area from the holes and slots.

Who want to start a bet on how long before the rotors crack?

Personally i wouldnt trust any company that Drills and slots stock rotors to make them look better.

Performance wise, Most of their so called designs would inturn either destroy your pads Or give less then optimal braking.

Especially that machine gun drilled style, Can we say to many holes, and will crack sooner then even the Z.

lawnmower the holes dont go all the way thru. well at least not on mine i dont know about his.

and dude no need to get defensive i was only trying to help thats all. the first time you go thru a big puddle or deep water and need to mash on your brakes you'll see what i mean.

Well just so you know, the chances of Slotted rotors Fading in the rain or in a flooded road, is quite small.

If you looked man, Bluecavalier426's rotors are drilled all the way through. Not well either, But thats what you get buying from a 3rd rate company.

Do a search on them, you will find Hundreds of Complaints about some of their rotors are cracking and breaking.

i dont know i cant see them go all the way thru but that doesnt mean your not right either
the cheeper drilled rotors do crack fairly easy. the hole drilling creats weak spots
between the holes and hot spots.

and i noticed a difference the first time it rained when i had the ebc's on my car. it stops
beter and the peddle doesnt feel "spongy" in the rain. i had always had biger v-8 cars
and this is my first sport compact car so i did notice a big difference in the braking ability
in the rain. i even had the car checked several times for a brake problem when it rains.
i was told it was normal for the brakes to feel this way cause the rotors have to shed the water befor the pad could bite enough to slow the car down. with the slotts and if
there faceing the correct way the rotor can shed the water almost instantly.

but hey its your car so do whatever you like if it makes you happy. i'm just glad i dont have to worry about you liveing close enough to me to cause me any problems.

So the curve of the slots and hole goes WITH the spinning of the tire? (Forward?) Cause I just bought and installed mine and it Specifically said on the boxes that they went the way his are in his pics. They said either FRONT R or FRONT L and I checked it twice cause it seemed wierd....

Also, my holes go all the way through but the 'slots' do not.....

Front right is passenger and front left is the drivers side. Just in case people are getting this confused. I know alot of people do. When talking about left and right on a car you are looking at it as if you were standing behind the car.

it looks cool but the black is already comming off. On the second and third picture you can see the bare metal shinning throught in some areas. but other than that i think they look cool.

It came up in the rotor direction post, so I'll repeat it here.

Some rotors are made to "poke" the ground instead of "slapping" it. Powerslot are known to go this "backward" way. If the rotor was designed to go the opposite way, it will work better that way.

All the cheap (and some good ones too) rotors I've ever seen "slap" the ground. The biggest factor is the internal cooling vanes. Their swirl must go with the direction of rotation for proper cooling.

If it's labeled, do as instructed. If not, it should be "slapping" the ground.

Cracking is a problem only in high stress applications. If it's just for good looks and you drive normal with it, you'll be just fine for many years.

Is the black coating on the inside of the vanes too? This is where it would make the biggest difference. Rusting on the inside of the vanes kills rotors cooling ability.

The slots arent supposed to go all the way through.

That would be very dangerious if they did.

I got a catalog from tirerack.com the other day and they had some rotors made by powerslot that were black in color. So maybe they don't chip? However these rotors were not available for a cavalier yet.

oh and by the way my brembo's poke the ground so I think that yours are facing the right way but I also understand that some rotors are supposed to slap the ground. And I am pretty sure that the baer kit that has either a slotted and drilled or dimpled actually poke the ground as well
