ive had a problem with my back brakes for awhile i just ignored it what they were doing was when i came to a stop, and let out on the brake pedal i would hear a loud pop in the rear of the car. well things just got worst yesterday. i got in my car yesterday afternoon reversed out of my parking space and headed out of the parking lot. got to a stop sign and pressed the brake pedal and as soon as i did i heard the loudest bang in the back of my car and i felt it throughout the car also. (felt kinda like someone hit me or something.) i was like wtf
so i go on down the road and press the brake pedal again. well it does it again. about 5 more times when i press the brake pedal it does this. after about pressing the pedal 7 times it stops. when i release the pedal after stopping it kind of sounds like its sticking. i can hear a slight clink when i release the pedal.
i am fixing this tonight cause it is getting really really ass annoying does anyone know what the problem might be cause im at a loss.

On a wild guess: Brake drum is cracked and that sound is the shoe catching in the crack. Could also be a shoe broke off and is going round in there with the brake drum.
Those are some pretty big bad problems, but it's just a guess. I've never had any problems with the rear brakes. Open her up and tell us what you find/see.
but i just changed the drums on the back. if it was a shoe goin around wouldnt like make the sound while driving. i was thinking maybe the springs but i could be wrong. anyone know anything else the problem could be.

its ben about 2-3 months. i think something was done wrong of course i wasnt there to do em. one day i come home from work and my fathers like i changed your brakes and i said well thanks. and i noticed the popping of the back brakes when i let go of the pedal the next day. now it just like catches the wheel whenever i push the brake and it knocks hard. also my driver passenger side wheels screechs when the brake is popping then ike said after about 5-7 times of the popping it just quits. ive got to check this out tonight.

well i have the same problem only on a lesser leverl. i have a slight clunk. i know what it is though, air the the cylinder in be drivers side drum. my own dumb fauly..squeezed it w/o the cap off. i havent bled the brakes yet cause the bleeders are rounded off so i have to buy knew ones first
i got a worse story for you...... haha driving to work the other day ( about a week ago ) the entire front break caliber came off, ripped the break line out, and went flying across the highway leaving me w/ NO breaks!!! i dont know HOW this happened, but it did. and now i have lock-tight on those two bolts, its not happening again~!
