personal experience with d-spec??
Monday, June 06, 2005 7:09 PM
hey, i currently have B&G springs (never installed yet) i planned on puttin the springs on until the stock shocks blew and then upgrading the struts but i found a decent deal on ebay for the dspec set-up. springs, struts and shocks.
im just looking for everyones opinion on their springs. ive heard their shocks/struts are real nice, but havent heard anything about their springs.
would it be better to keep the bg springs and get the struts?
thanks everyone!!

imbatman... yeah, i know!! its a huge concern to me cuz i dont have the money to jus throw around... i prolly shouldnt even lower my car, hahah buuut what are you going to do.. ITS NOT A 4X4!! hahah the guy that is selling them, has a really high, like 98%+ rating and over 8k transactions. but i know that there is always that possibility...

what are you opinions on putting my springs one with the stock struts until they blow??

opinions on d-spec are still welcome!

Bad idea, but if you feel so inclined to find out for yourself, go ahead.

since you already have new springs just get the struts

I have the D-specs and they are Sweet!!! mind you i race autoX so the adjustability is what i need... and when i'm not racing i set it to soft and its almost like the stock feel.

also i strongly recomend that you buy the Monroe strut top replacements instead of using the stock ones. some people had no issues with the stock tops... whereas some including me wore out the rubber insert in 3 weeks or longer (i race alot ) the replacements are better quality than stock... you cant go wrong and they aren't expensive.

good luck with whatever you choose

I would keep the BGs and get the D Spec. Check this deal out:

i got the mounts here in Canada at a chain store called Candain Tire. Any auto store can get them for you... i paid $104 CDN for the 2 rear mounts.

here is the link i posted after they were installed.... you will find the part # for the 00-02 top mount. i'm not sure if they will work on any other years.

good luck

monroe mounts can be picked up in the US at advance auto parts.. maybe sears auto since we sell their struts/shocks, but advance is probably cheaper. like 45 each retail. might find them online cheaper
