Parking brake help
Thursday, April 29, 2010 4:00 PM
Ok, so I need a new parking brake for my sunfire. Actually, ever since I bought the car it has never worked. The dude that sold it to me told me that it didn't work and only 1 cable needed to be replaced and he gave me the cable. Well - ina ctual fact the whole damn thing needs to be replaced. So I have a few questions.

1) From a PM I had with Joshua Dearman here is what I got:

22634721 - ~$25 = Rear Cable
22651234 - ~$18 = Rear Cable (one is left one is right)
22628963 - ~$38 = COMPLETE ebrake handle + long cable running to the back + pull harness for the two rear cables.

Except, on GmPartsDirect.ca (yes CA - im Canadian) it says the following:
22634721 Brakes - Parking brake - Front cable - Front cable, cavalier, sunfire 2000
22651234 Brakes - Parking brake - Rear cable - Rear cable, cavalier, sunfire 1995 - 2002
22628963 Brakes - Parking brake - Parking brake control - Parking brake control, sunfire, w/o leather wrap 1995 - 2005

So, what is actually right? I need everything anyways, except this is where my problem arises, as mentioned I already have this cable:

So what cable is that? I think it's a rear cable, but which one? Whats it's part no.? What other ones do I need? I'm so unsure atm.

Thanks for the help!

While I'm at it - what do you guys think of the speed bleeders, they worth it? Do they handle salty winter conditions well? Wheres the best (cheapest) place to get them (I've found a few sites including ebay - quite expensive actually)? Finally, I can not find an application size chart or anythign anywhere - what size are the neon's bleeder screws? Moreover, what size are the 97 2.2L Sunfires (might as well do the front too).

Thanks!
