if your just going to use stock springs. and not even lower the car. dont bother with those. just get some GR2s .. better then stock and alot cheaper.
I like the GR2's but i was going to get these because they are quick struts. Has anyone ever used the monroe quick strut are they good?
not hard to transplant your springs onto the gr2s save your self some money/. but back to your question, i remember one person who did it. but i forget who though .
I'm with azncav on this one. I checked the auction and it's $430+ for just the fronts, GAWT DAYUM. Unless you have reason to suspect your springs are fubar I'd just go with GR-2 or HP blues with new strut mounts and come out cheaper to boot. You can rent a coil spring compressor usually from a place like autozone, and if you've already got the strut out it isn't going to be much more work to take the strut mount and spring off. FWIW I loosen up the nut on top of the strut mount prior to pulling the strut from the car.
I put Monroe quick struts on a car not too long ago.
I actually highly recommend them if you need both springs and struts. I don't think they were THAT expensive though!
The car I was working on had a broken spring and blown struts, so it wasn't a matter of just putting the old springs on new struts. The quick struts made the whole job extremely convenient. I mean... I've got spring compressors and everything else needed to do installs... but there's certainly something to be said for making the whole job easy!
When we priced it out, it was around the same cost as getting struts and springs separately, and with those, everything is new.
So... for a maintenance job... highly recommended. Just find a better price at your local auto parts place.

I also have all the tools needed. I just needed to know if they were worth it (ride quality, time, money). They are a little cheeper on the Monroe web site. The seller is promising over night delivery. I think that is why they are a little more than the web site. He says free shipping but i am guessing he just added to the price + his fees. My local Chevy dealer wanted $1092 just for the parts & $408 for labor I had to laugh at them
Thanks for the response.
I think that as a stock replacement, you'll be quite happy. I would even go so far as to say that they're probably better than what came from the factory.
Just got my Monroe quick struts and put them on today, and I am very happy. I would highly recommend these. It only took about 25 minutes per side. The ride is great. Nice and smooth. No complaints. Highly recommended. I just had to put it out there incase any one else wonders if they are worth it.

make sure you get and alignment though.
In hs auto class, one of the first things I replaced on my cavalier was the front struts, having never done any suspension work.
I was originally going to replace just the struts, but when we got the old strut off the car everything looked pretty used up.
I had the quick strut ordered in, working alone, but with top of the line tools and lift, I had each side done in about 15 minutes.
So I think these are a good product, camber was off pretty bad after though so get an alignment.
Not sure of the ride quality vs stock since I only had the car when the stock ones were toast, but ride quality seems average if not good.
Got a alignment right after. They said it was off, but not by much. It took 25 mins per side with no power tools, and me taking a break cause it was so hot. (80's today). I would recommend them. Thanks for the help guys!
