OEM Harness Bar

im thinking about getting one, has anyone had any trouble with them? i told a good friend about it and he said it might make the steering wonky, but i doubt that, so any opinions on the harness bars?

How would a harness bar make the steering wonky?

Are you thinking Strut bar maybe?

nope the harness bar that OEM makes, maybe he was thinking something different because i didnt show him pictures of it, but any way, is it worth getting one? i would be getting one more for the stiffining of the body more than for harnesses

As far as a stiffening bar being made out of a harness bar, I doubt that it would work.
I'm not 100% sure that it was designed for this purpose.
Can anyone elaborate on this a little more for those that want to know?
Mark? Your opinion?

The harness bar would provide some stiffness to the unibody so long as its mounted correctly.

Now it is by no means a roll bar or cage but it would provide added strength and reduce twist along the same lines as strut bars do.

If you beef up the mounting points and triangulate the bar to the fame other than the floor you should have a very nice piece. No where as strong as a Roll cage but deff noticable.

Am I the only one that thinks it looks like an Oh @!#$ bar for the rear passengers?

You SHOULD NOT have passengers in the back seat with ANY harness bar or rollbar/cage.

Could kill anyone in the back seat.

^^^, that is a disclaimer I have to add to the site, if I already did not. YOU CAN NOT HAVE ANY PERSON IN THE BACK WITH THE BAR IN. If you get into an accident there head will split in half.
