help plz GM strut bar does not fit, might have bigger suspension issues after crash

Once again Im here for your wisdom. I bought the GM strut tower brace (2 firewall hinges) on the classified section. It took me almost a month to receive it here in Mexico, I tried to install it yesterday and surprise, it does not fit my Sunfire 00. I tested it in a friends Sunfire GT 98 and it fits perfectly.

I talked to the seller and he told me what I had already read in the FAQ that all sunfires have the same dimensions. The problem is that the bar is around 3/4 of an inch too long. I bought the car 2 years ago and I knew nothing about cars so I didnt pay attention that it had been in an accident and repaired. It looks repaired on the drivers side but nothing major. So now I got worried because Im thinking other things might be damaged too.

No mechanic has told me that anything is wrong with my suspension but what would be a good checklist? maybe they havent been thorough, for example I wouldnt have noticed the problem with the length between strut mounts if it havent been for the bar.

The only thing Ive notice was that the car is a little bit unstable when driving around 100 km/h new struts didnt fix that, so I thought maybe thats how j-bodies are suposed to ride with stock suspension... maybe I was wrong.

thanks in advance

i dunno what might be @!#$ up with your suspension, but you can drill out the hole slightly to fit the strut towers. i had to do that with mine

Try lifting the car up off the ground to let the suspension unload and take some of the flex outta that area. It might help.

Don't let the punks get to you. If they can't say anything helpful its because they probably
have VERY LITTLE IF ANY MECHANICAL SKILLS . Talking crap is just their way of hiding that
fact. They figure the more crap they say the less likley anyone will know how dumb they are.
