ok well im working on geting all my stuff togeater to do the neon rear disk. so my gf jessica and i went to the junk yards agean today, to get some calapers, and look for a few thang for her car. well we did not have any luck with finding a nother rear disk neon so i had to get some calapers off a 96 dodge intrpid.
ok so we pulled the calapers and the brake lines i went ahead a took some of the metal line too seens i did not have the rite size line wrench with me
ok so here is my ? what is this is it some kind of inline valveing or something ??? or is it just a fiting thay used to hook the two lines togeater
a pic of the calapers with lines
and a pic of the part im asking about on the lines
I thought mine were residual pressure valves, which would make sense since i have rear drums...
but those have no business being on a full disc car...
i'm stumped... watching this.
well unless dodge used them on the cars seens some was drum them years too maybe thay used them on the disk cars to keep from havein to swap the rest of the brake stuff out to cut the coust
proportioning vavle???
Familiar Taste of Poison.
Also known as a proportioning valve, for some reason Chrysler decided to put them at each wheel instead of using the more common design of putting them directly in the master cylinder. Ironically you got yourself a $100 part that can only be purchased through Chrysler but will do you absolutley no good on your Cavy. Oh and the brass piece is just a 3/16 line nut on the end of the valve!!! Yes they use proportioning valves on both disc or drum brakes because as Quicklilcav said they are designed to keep the master cylinder from flooding over
Dont be a smarta$$...although it is better than being a dumba$$
might be able to sell them, and get some of your money back.
im not worry about saleing them lol i only gave 20.75 for the calapers and lines at a pull a part here
