Hello, my car is feeling a bit unsure on the road.
My setup:
Tokico D-Specs
Tenzo R springs
Eibach Anti-sway bars (rear & front)
Polyurethane bushings all over.
Riding on 18x8 exel ennios
The problem seems to appear when I’m driving on slightly uneven roads (specially when changing lanes on expressways) the car’s steering abruptly tries to go anywhere uncontrollably except straight where I want it.
I have changed the damping setting on the d-specs to “full soft” to see if it is a suspension problem, but still with the problem. I checked the brakes to see if they were sticking…but they are all fine. I will put the steel stock rims up front to see if the 18in wheels are too heavy…
Any thoughts?

My old 18's use to grab any grooves in the road and do exactally the same thing. So if you out the stockers back on I don't see it doing the same thing.
has it been aligned since messing with suspension?
Yes it has. Wheels are 100% aligned. new brake lines, bleed the brakes. Balancing...All done.
I just got back form putting the stock rims...and to my disappointment (because i really like my rims)... the car handled just fine. So, i'm sadly concluding that the 18x8 (225/40-18)are to wide and heavy. The ball joints may have worn out as well i guess due to stress.

^^ never did... i drove it like that for a while till i got rid of the rims.... i think it was the tires i had a 225/40/18 so no sidewall at all... good luck man.....

What do you have on your care now?

14" alloys all the way and there only 13 lbs a piece and at 3000 rpm theres no wheel hop and i only got like 120 hp to the wheels
if it start the next day it can be driven harder
^ what does that have to do with it?
Put your stock wheels back on and go for a spin. My 225's bite allover the road, a little annoying, but you learn to deal,
M62, 42's, ZZP 3", ZZP S3 H/E
214whp 190wtq
I put my stock ls sport rims back on.
Yep, big heavy wheels with little sidewall make for sluggish imprecise handling especially on uneven roads. >16" is purely for looks IMO, so if your after handling on the street, ditch the 18"s. The less weight you have in the corners, the more snappy and responsive the handling will be on any car.
The problem is actually more than likely an issue with your power steering rack. There is a Chevrolet TSB on it regarding the powersteering valves in the Rack and Pinion assembly going bad and causing the rack to attempt power assist to full lock when the wheel is turned a small amount.
They had a couple thousand lawsuits about this very condition. So I would see someone who knows what they are doing as quickly as possible since the symptoms can escalate very quickly...

what year cavaliers is this a problem on?
I would have to look, I thought they solved it pre 03 but that does not mean the OP's car has not had a reman rack put in it that had not had the issue fixed.
