rebuild a caliper

any help on this? i got calipers that i thought were new from the classifieds, that were very not...so, i'm workin on cleaning em up, and makin em nice.(pretty much so i have something to tinker with...i already purchased and am waiting for fully rebuilt calipers). so, should i order a new piston, seal, and 2 bolt boots for each caliper, and just make sure i take off all rust(and the gobs of paint...ugh...the paint is just always tacky in some spots...i wish whoever painted em would've just left em alone...probably to cover up the rust, cuz they even painted in the bolt boot, and on the piston seal...oy.) so, how do i take em apart? obviously, the bolts and boots are easy, but what about the piston? anything i should or shouldn't do to get em out?

thanks guys!

so far, i spent $65 on the old calipers, and i'll be spending like $55 after shipping on the parts to rebuild em...and a rebuilt one is like $17, lmao!

Why not just take them into your local parts store and get new ones? Use the old as cores.

Here in Canada new calipers are $20 a piece with the old as a core.
