So I recently put some Koni Yellows with RKSport (Ground Control) coilovers on my 95 cav.
The car isn't pulling at all, but the steering wheel has to be turned to the right to go straight, that's not my problem.
I took the car to Kal Tire and they told me they couldn't align it because, "the strut rod went through the bottom of the strut".
I jacked the car up and looked at it, it looks fine, there's no oil, no rods poking out. In fact, the front rides smoother than the back.
I'm getting a second opinion in a few days, but really, is it even POSSIBLE that what they said is true?
Chances are they don't know what they're looking at being the housings bolt into the bottom of the factory strut housing.
I'd think had such actually happened, doubt it, you'd know it as that very shaft would have made contact with a CV shaft by now.
Did you explain they were inserts? I mean, come on.
maybe they mean the rod went though the strut MOUNT?

I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
Nope, I asked if they meant the top and he just kept feeding me the whole "went through the bottom" deal. I think they just didn't want to do it.
Kal Tire wouldn't touch my car... said that the wheel bearings were shot (they're both brand new) and there is play in the steering (there isn't).
I hate Kal Tire now.
Haha, yeah they told me about my wheel bearings but at that I point I was done with Kal.
From what I gather they spin your wheels and if they make noise at all then they tell you to get new bearings.
thats alot of force to have the shaft go through.. i mean it would have to pierce the threading, the bolt and the stock shock housing. unless your car was dropped from a building i really dought anything went through the bottom haha, and if he did mean to say TOP of the strut mabe he saw the little tab for the adjustment? another reason why my car never sees a auto shop. un less it needs a smog..
