hey guys
so i wanna drop my sunfire a little bit, i guess an inch and a half, using eibach springs
is it true that i should upgrade the struts as well asap?
also, which ones should i go for?
ive seen that there are the sportline and proline or whatever, when i was looking at the group purchase thread for this
thanks
You should not drop the car on stock struts, yes you are correct. The common three of preference on the JBO appears to be Koni Yellow, Tokico D-spec, and KYB AGX (in that order). Best of luck with your project, if you do it correc the first time it will save you $ in the long run!
Since your car is a 2005 i wouldn't see much of a need to replace the strut mounts etc but solid mounts are becoming more and more popular too, so you can look into that also.
get the eibach pro-kit with the kyb agx struts. trust me.... you will love them.
I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
i was thinking the koni yellows, how come kyb agx struts?
one more thing, i was thinking about getting the sportlines where it drops 2.3 in the back.
will that be too much?? i just went out and measured and thats low!

The 2.3 drop in the rear makes the entire car "level." The sportlines are whats on my car. I can get you some more pics if you need to see what I'm talking about.
pics would be good man, i wanna go as low as possible but not kill it!
eibach pro-kit with agxs would be money efficient and give you a good stance for about $600 if you look enough. d-specs are very easy to work with whereas konis i believe you have to work around some stuff, not really sure.
as far as springs.. road magnets get you the same drop as sportlines, but many say they also ride better comfort wise. am currenty trying to get d-specs and road magnets if the guy ends up selling them. good luck!!
can anyone comfirm that you have to work around some things with the koni yellows? also, are all of the main strut options available (koni, agx, d-spec etc.) adjustable
yes, for the koni's you would have to cut up your stocker and fit it in.
oh @!#$, alright ill go with the d-specs then.. and eibach sportlines
hahaha should have, never steered me wrong before, except now probably just gonna do pro kit springs
koni's require the front stock struts to be cut and the insert bolted in. The rears need the stock spring perch and also require the rear strut mounts to be drilled out to accomodate the larger strut shaft... which honestly sounds alot harder than it really is if you are mechanically inclined.
all of this information has been posted many times and can be found in the suspension faq at the top of the suspension forum page though.
i kinda HATE my AGX/ Pro-kit setup. its so @!#$ rough its unbelievable. no matter WHAT setting i have it on. right now im on 1 front and 2 in the rear and it still isnt soft enough for me. so. i dunno. it might just be me
how mutch would u sell if for??
