So I have been working with Marcus for the past few days on adapting his Current Upper Strut Mounts to work with the Older, More common Easystreet Convulsion bags. I finished drawing up the design today and with the help of my friend CDC milled up a prototype.
My Goal here is to Still utilize the Easystreet Teflon Bearing, But make a much more reliable mount.... WITHOUT sacrificing ride height OR quality. Also NO Modification to the Easystreet bag setup.
This will also fix the apparently common problem shown here
Bandwidth Maxed, Will be back up soon)
Here is the first prototype, We Modified OEM's current Bushing and Added on a new Contact Plate for the bearing.
Heres an album of everything machined and assembled(Except the Pillowball mount plate).

The Finished Mount should be 1 Single Steel piece, not 2 as pictured.

Cool, cool. Looks like the list is getting bigger. Once I get this proto adapter plate I will see where this list is and go from there. I can still make them if the list does not get to 5-10, just might be that big of a discount.

sndsgood wrote:help a slow guy out. is this just a more secure beefy mount instead of the ole thick washer and nut setup? i just noticed last week how my waster are starting to curl up around the bolt on mine.
Basically yes. A bunch of us are having problems with easystreet's washers not holding the strut in the center of the mounting plate. This will fix that problem.

Now I am not 100% on this, But I think you should be looking at AROUND $180 Shipped. But I am not sure. He will be able to do them in Camber adjustable too I'm sure as the upper plate is the same, which will run AROUND $240 shipped, But I'm not sure if using the camber adjustment will cause the bags to rub on the strut tower(A BIG no-no). So You may just want to stick to the NON adjustable mounts and use the lower adjustment on the easystreet struts.
Mind you, this is just my BEST guess, however I know the Air-Mount's will be made from stainless which may cost more to produce than the coilovers aluminum bracket.
Marcus said he should have the first test pair done this week for me to install and try out, and I'm guessing he should have a final price at this time.
Hope this helps.
was hoping the price was lesser than that but they sure will save my money on replacing bald tires almost too often due to alignment.
also i would love to have them in by this long weeekend. keep us updated how it goes..
