2 inch difference?
Tuesday, February 03, 2009 7:58 PM
Hey everyone i just got my car abck from the shop and noticed that my front right fender has a huge gap over the tire. I used to fit three fingers in but i can fit my whole fist in now. (No sexual comments please...). I have megan racing springs on kyb struts. the spring doesn't appear twisted and everything looks the same as before. I had my trans and clutch replaced btw. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

jack your car up... your spring may not be seated correctly.

Im waiting for the snow to melt away a little more since i don't have access to a shop anymore... This was my original thought too but the mechanic swore he never touched the springs and theres no way they got twisted.

you dont actuall have to touch the spring for them to be miss aligned. it has happened to me many times

yeah, depending on the springs, by flexing the suspension all the way out, there could be absolutely no tension holding that spring in place. This makes changing struts easy, but when you lower the car back down, you have to make sure they are seating right.
