I will be lowering my car after christmas and i was wondering after i do it my camber will be off and i was wondering how to fix it. Any answers......Thanks
in our cars you dont need any camber kits (you will need to get it realigned though)
actually, you will get negative camber depending on how low you go. for a small drop 2" or less, you should be fine.
if you slam it, you'll need camber bolts to adjust your camber back into spec. also, depending on how you setup the car, dialing in some negative camber may improve your cornering grip too.
depending on the struts themselves
some struts come with slotted strut bolt holes, those don't really need camber even if it is a larger drop
if you DD the car i wouldn't go for anything larger than -1 camber up front
I used to run -1.7 and -1.9 on my DD. If you need to make an adjustment you will have to slot the strut. Any time you change the camber you will need to have the toe corrected.
not true. any car needs a camber kit. in our cars the REAR does not because its a solid axle and not an independant suspension. if you are dong a mild drop id leave it because a little extra camber is good. if your dropping it a lot you can install a camber kit which will allow u to adjust camber. so do it all at once so you wont have to pay for 2 allignments if youre doing a big drop
Working on obtainting an M-Class license... ?? Hint: 2 wheels.

Wrong. Im bagged and my ride height is set at about the same height that the guys with coil-overs run. The tech who did my alignment had no problem getting my camber back into spec.
When I did teh alignment on my 02 I set it a fair bi negative. After swaping the suspension setup over to my 98 I had the alignment set to -1* camber (close to half what I had before). You will be hard pressed to find a "camber kit" in my cars Personaly I dont trust a bolt that is a fair bit smaller in diameter than the stock component..
My camber (all my alignment settings in fact) were exactly the same before and after my suspension install.
I then purchased and installed some camber bolts from NAPA then had the toe readjusted.
The tech that did the alignment said i could run less negative camber if i slotted the lower strut mounting holes,
but i opted to keep the setup i have. tire wear has not been very far from normal (read terrible no matter what).
I deliver Jimmy Johns 40 hours a week on 2.6 degrees negative camber on each front wheel. I would like to think
this setup yields greater cornering power because that's what it feels like it but i have no numbers to back it up.
Just be prepared to replace wheels bearings more often because of the added stress
(i run a lower offset wheel and wider tire in the summer).
my camber adjustment is a bandaid on a broken leg. I'm in the process of drawing up a much better setup.
I promise a full write-up upon completion.
