ok so ive owned my jbody for a few months and noticed that when i bought it the car was already lowered with adjustable struts(i think thats the right terminology) and yellow springs. it was so low it felt like when i hit a bump or went over a speed bump i had almost no suspension at all. atleast in the front. i couldnt adjust them because the owner could not find the tool. so i take my car to my mechanic for him to work on my braks and as he was lifting the car he said my cv axles were shot and i needed new struts and strut mounts. i knew i needed new cv axles but was un aware of how bad the struts were. so im looking for another front pair. i do know that the ones that are already on there are after market and can be adjusted but i dont know what kind they are. i think imma re use the springs that are already on there. but im not sure about what struts to get. i want to be able to be adjustable just like the ones i already have. ive been reading the forum on the differences of all the suspension components but it just has me confused. could someone give me some pointers and help me out. try not to bash me to bad. im still a little new to the forum. ill take pics for u guys if u need them. thanks
it would help if we knew what springs and struts you have first before we can make any decisions for you.
pictures are all we need.
ok ill try and get the pics up later today for everybody

if anyone knows what brand these are please let me know if i should buy them again or get a new front setup
you cant tell from any of those pictures but judging on the cheap coilovers i would say they are stock.
if they are adjustable like you say they are, can you get a picture of the adjustment knob and where its located at?
The struts do look stockish. By "adjustable", do you mean perhaps the threaded height adjustment? If so, that combined with the spring form the "coilover", and it is separate from the strut itself.

well there is no nob at the top of the strut so im guessing the part that looks sort of like a screw is the adjustable part. u have to have like a special wrench or something. what actions do you guys think i should take on this as far as getting new front struts
like geeky said thats part of the coilover. you more than likely dont have adjustable struts and i just made that assumption from the cheap coilovers. i would get rid of that whole setup and start over with atleast quality lowering springs and proper adjustable struts.
It might help us make recommendations if you gave us some idea of your willingness to spend. You can reuse those coilovers if you want, but I agree that they look like they might be trouble. (A good coilover setup typically runs over $1000, where you appear to have the kind that runs less than $100 on eBay. There's a reason.) That said, they might be manageable with good struts (like Tokico D-Spec, or Koni "sport" Yellow) at about $500-600, though you'll still be stuck at your current height without an adjustment tool. If you decide ditch those coilovers, then you have plenty of options, depending on whether you would be happy with a particular amount of "drop" from the stock ride (lowering springs), or if you want to be able to change ride height (new coilovers).
