I was looking at the design of the front mounts and becasue my car is a 99, the mounts are different I guess. So what I need to know is, should I make the front mounts to the 98 specs or the 99 secs. It looks like the coilovers will only work with the 98 mounts, but I am not sure. I guess I can take mine apart but if someone has an explanation that would be great so I can start having these machined.

i want to see pics before i commit to the fronts...although i am def in is they are NICE!
If I recall correctly, doesn't a lot of people on the .org here suggest going to the pre 98 design becuase it is a one piece design instead of a three piece design? I'm not expert by any means on what these looks like, but that is what I remember reading on here before. Maybe you want to take that into consideration.
seems to be alot of mis lead info here. there are 2 style mounts. the 95-99 style mounts and the 00-05 style mounts. the 95-99 mounts are the most prefered because they are a 3 piece mount where as the 00-05 mounts are all 1 piece.

yes, thats the correct info.
Actually its the 98 and lower. I just picked up a 99 mount and its 2 pieces actually. Its a lower section which the spring sits on and a top mount. No worries though my design will work for all years. I just got done looking at HELD's front mount and I have to say that its not to great of a design at all. The actual part of the spring rides of the bearing, if thats a bearing.Mine actually is a two piece mount. I will have the first one done and on my car by next week. Should be a pretty sweet design. These are gonna cost a little more probably around 150-170 for the pair shipped.

The holidays may be tight, but I'm sure you can put me down for a set of whatever you put together.

I've never seen a pic of the mount you're talking about, but the spring (or upper perch) needs to ride on a bearing. If not, it will bind every time you turn the wheel, since it rotates with the strut.
ugh damn u. why cant you make this stuff closer to tax time!!!
failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
Yum, will this also change the ride height like the rear mounts do?

Somebody mentioned rears as well?
Those look good sir!

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
Ahhhh they should lower too as it is my car looks lower from the back, I want an even lowness all the way around lol
Yup, thats a bearing. The only thing I would do differently is use a spherical bearing instead of the typical donuts. It will cost a bit more, but will take alot of the slop out right away.
Some questions-
1- these are for factory springs? Or 2.5" springs?
2- are factory 3rd gen front springs flat ground on the top, or are they pigtail? If pigtail, how do you plan on isolating the spring? Factory isolator?
3- if they're for factory springs, what is your bearing plan?
Cool to see guys fabbing up parts!
1- These are for factory springs? Or 2.5" springs?- Both. It will be for the 2.5" CO springs and the 4" NON CO springs.
2- Are factory 3rd gen front springs flat ground on the top, or are they pigtail? If pigtail, how do you plan on isolating the spring? Factory isolator?- I
am not sure on the 03 springs. If someone could chime in that would be sweet. I would like to know so that if I need to get a different type of isolater I can. I wanted to stay away for all the factory rubber, so if I can make them work with poly bushings I will.
3- If they're for factory springs, what is your bearing plan?- Factory Springs and Coil Over springs will have the same type of bearing designed into the unit. Helps me keep cost down and if it needs to be replace, it will be cheaper down the road.

Ahhh... so it will be (from top down)- plate, bearing, plate, isolator, spring? Good call to make it able to be used with factory and coil-over springs just be switching the isolator.
I seem to remember somebody making universal poly isolators designed for pigtail springs, and I know there are universal flat ground spring isolators out there. I'll see if I can find a link somewhere in my pile of favorites.

Oh well, at least they will last longer than original equipment.
