D-Spec settings for drag
Sunday, August 03, 2008 12:18 PM
I was thinking about what to set the d-specs to at the track. i would assume the rears should be very stiff for a FWD car at the track, but im unsure about the fronts; if they should be stiff as well or softer. So im asking for some input from anyone who has d-specs who has played around with the settings at the track and notice some good results.

another question, for FWD cars at the track, do you want generally stiffer or softer settings in the front? would i be right to assume stiff in the back?
read the faq of course, but that doesnt really deal with drag, mostly auto-cross

thanks

Last time i was at the track I set the rears to almost full hard and the fronts to the soft side of medium.

how did that work for you? did you notice less wheel hop or an increase in traction at all?

so overall do you want a softer front for FWD drag?

I just looked at the D-Spec setup guide that I got with mine and it suggested stiffest in the rears. And for the front I was surprised to find it also said start with stiff and work your way down to what your confortable with.

I don't think you should run the front stiff. What we do on my buddies car and soon mine is turn the rears as stiff as possible and then soften up the front. Witht he rear so stiff the weight transfer is minimal keeping alot of the weight over the front tires helping with traction. Same idea for rear wheel drive soften the rear up and stiffin the front to help with weight transfer the only difference is they soften the rears up alot because they have to be able to keep the weight towards the rear and as we all bow there isn't alot of weight back there unlees your MR, or RR.
