Upgrading suspension...a few questions
Wednesday, July 16, 2008 8:08 AM
Hi Everyone,
I have an '05 Pontiac Sunfire and am planning on upgrading the suspension-a few questions, and thanks in advance for any help!

I was considering either KYB AGX struts w/ Eibach Pro-Kit Springs or the Tokico D-Spec Shocks with Tein Springs (gravanatuning.com). Does anyone have any input as to which would be the better choice? I've read a bunch of other topics and some warn that the Pro-Kits sometimes lead to uneven drop in the front/rear. Haven't found too much on the Tokicos...

Also, has anyone had problems with a lowered suspension and not changing the strut mounts? I feel like I should probably change the strut mounts as well...

Thanks again for any help!
Janelle

strut mounts go bad relatively easy on the j-bodies. drop or no.

those are both good packages, I have not heard anything bad about d-specs, and they can handle the lowest drop available, which is nice should you decide to change springs.

there is nothing wrong with the AGX's either, it is just a matter of future use, do you ever think you will want to go lower (the answer is probably yes )

Good call, I hadn't considered that. Later on I might go lower, so the Tokicos would be a better investment.

Any advice on what kind/where to buy the mounts?

i bought my mounts off of tirerack.com. They only offered the front mounts for my 03 cavalier so i bought 95 rear cavalier mounts and 03 front cavalier mounts.. making it a complete set of front and rear mounts.. lol.. 95 and up suspension is interchangable.. thank god! they were the cheapest for all the mounts as well.. they are kyb mounts... and should arrive today for the installation tomorrow
