Ok i took a set of stuts(koni yellows with pro sport springs) of my blown 96 vert. Stuck them on my 99 sunfire and trashed the old ones due to two being bent by previous owner. Well i never took the 99 strut mounts off the struts to put on the koni's, i just dropped the struts and popped them into the 99. Well i have i right rear one bad and both front mounts. The fronts move up and down side to side a lil. What are my choices to fix the problem. I'd like to go back to the 99 mounts since they are different but don't want to fork out 150 bux'z for just one mount. So i was looking on napa i can get for a 99 a front strut mount kit ($57.49) Contains Bearing Contains Spring Seat & Spacer. Is this all i need to convert back to the 99 mount with out forking $150. Or stay with the 96 mount and just get the bearing for $14.69 or the Strut Bearing Plate w/ Bearing for $69.49. Like i said though i would like to go back to the 99 style if possible with the 57 dollar kit. Also the rear mounts are the same through years right? Because napa lists the same parts numbers for both years for the rear and i might as well get the one with the new isolator correct. I need to get it fix asap since it's throwing me everywhere on the road thanks.
im alittle lost. there are 2 different strut mounts. the 95-99 mounts and the 00+ mounts. 95-99 mounts are a 3 piece mount and the 00+ are a 1 piece mount. the best mounts to get are the 95-99 mounts because the majority of the time the bearing goes bad and you can just replace them. i dont know who quoted you 150 bucks for 1 mount but thats ridicious. the 95-99 mounts are approx. 60-70 bucks per mount (depending where you go).
My 99's front mounts are two piece, and I had to get them from the dealer.
Top half of the mount was 50 something the bottom was 70ish.

hmmm i always thought the 95-99 mounts were all the same? none the less though all the mounts are interchangable so you can go with whatever you please.
advance and nappa lists sturt mount for right around 140 to 150. But then they have the bearings and those kits. But for the actual 99 struts you can't get just the bearing you got to get the strut mount kit.. Do you know if you need to buy both pieces so i can go back to the 99 style or jus the top?
I just got a brand new set all around of the 2nd gens. Rears were $40 something and fronts were in the $70's
