the vogtland 1.8 drop springs would be ok with kyb gr-2's right?
or would the eibach pro-kit be better for the kyb gr-2's
neither. gr2s are oem replacement sturts. read the faqs please. i know yours is a 2nd gen but its still the same
From what I understand, KYB GR-2's are an OEM style strut/shock that is not designed for anything other than stock springs and ride height. KYB's performance line, the AGX, is not even warrentied for a drop of 1.8". Most people here will probably tell you to go with Tokico D-specs or Koni Yellows
In the same respect, the generally accepted cheapest way to lower a third gen while still maintaining longevity and safety is the prokit and AGX's

I got a 98 z24 too, thats where I'm putting the suspension
that GTZ you see in my sig has only 63k on it and the stock suspension is pretty tight. GM really hooked the suspension up on those cars
ok well gr2s are pretty much oem replacements.
damn then a guy's gotta spend a whole lot of money on struts to have a any drop
well not really. 1.5" mark is really the breaking point. anything past 1.5" would require koni yellows or dspecs. you could get away with id say 1.7" on agxs but i wouldnt recommened it since they are only warrantied up to 1.5". if you want to lower it for pretty cheap, like mentioned you can get the eibach prokit and kyb agxs. that setup would probably run you 550 for everything brand new. thats about what you would pay just for yellows or dspecs
I have the vogtland springs on my AGX's and the ride is simply amazing!!!! I love it. But as for the gr-2's idk you might be risking it.
I was just reading the description of GR-2's on Gravana's website. It states that they "complete suspension systems with upto 1.5" drop" SO, is the ride just crappy, or is this strut useful for a drop of less than 1.5"? I though AGX's were only good to 1.5"?

My bad, Tokico HP's are good for 1.5", GR-2's are good for 1"
yeah no company sells a spring with a drop less then 1". for our cars.
warrantied < what do you mean when you use this word
warrantied - covered by manufacturer. if something goes wrong with the strut they will replace it for free. if your the cause of the problem though, they wont cover it. example the springs you want to use are 1.8" drop. if you use the kyb agx on them which are only warrantied up to a 1.5" drop and they struts blow, well you'll be stuck buying new struts.
ok I thought you were using it in the sense that. The strut is not going to be able to perform it's function cause it wasn't designed for a lowered ride height. so I am going to go with eibach sport kit and agx's. Them Vogtlands look like nice springs and I like the fact there german. they usally only build quality stuff.

yea maybe for certain cars. skunk2 is huge with hondas and acuras and are very good quality. however when it comes to our cars, they arent the best.
you mean eibach pro kit? eibach sportline? big difference in the 2
so the agx's are better shock then right? there not just adjustable gr-2's with a paint job
