Cutting the dust boot?

I just have one ? i was told by someone that if i cut my dust boot off it would lower my car i dunno if thats true or not i have tired to do my research on here but i am not finding anything on here about that so if i could get some advice about it i would nice thanks for the time guys

bump stop, not dust boot and no it will not lower the car more. the bump stop is there simply to stop the car from bottoming out on the strut. when your suspension is on the car, there is no pressure on the bump stop so it will have no effect on lowering the car more.
