I dont know how mnay of you guys have ever ridden in a car with these coilovers...but they are amazing feeling...VERY controlled...and while there was no plan to have any made...I emailed them anyways and they say if we generate enough interest they will make em...so lets get emailing...I had friends that have these on their Acura Legends and they transformed the car ALOT!!
here is the email and contact info for the company
We didn’t have any plans but if there is enough interest we would have no problem doing so. If you have any other people interested please let me know and we will see what we can do.
Thanks,

Thank in advance...
BTW...they are 36 way adjustable ad that includes rebound adjustments built in
1) they arent going to be cheap
2) majority of cavalier owners are cheap
3) there are a ton of other options that are just as good for a cheaper price
4) you may get a few others interested but they will back out
^^ agreed.

yea ksport is a very good coilover system ... my friends nx2000 has a completer coilover setup. man the endless adjustments it's capable of. the car already handled like a gocart. i dont know about other cars, but the ones on his NX2000 has two seperate springs, on top and one bottom. i would be willing to save for them. but then again i would be willing to save for the teins also
Ksports are good, but not phenomenal. There are definitely better choices. Ksports and D2's are the same basic product, and they are both made in the same Taiwanese factory as Megan Racing coilovers and Hayame coilovers. And I can't remember, but I believe Apex`i coils are also made there Just because something is "JDM", it is not automatically better, or even really made in Japan.
Just food for thought.

I think the KW Variant 3's are out anyways. If you are looking for a top notch coilover system worth more than your car, try and hunt those down

KSport has serious quality control issues from what I've seen. The majority of reviews I've read needed at least one shock rebuilt within a year.

I can't find a jbody owner with KW Variant 1's, much less 3's

tein has the edfc and it's cheaper. what do you expect.
I have TEIN on my Z24 and am very happy with that set up... easy to install, no fabrication needed, all holes line up, endless choices for adjustments, handles like the proverbial go-kart.....blah-bah... get the TEIN and live long and prosper
The Teins rust and Kw's don't.
The KW's will outlast the Teins anyday by way of their build quality. Next to the Ohlins, KW's own most any other coilover out there.
I plan on getting a set of the KW Variant 3's because it's going to be the last coilover I'll buy for the Cavy.
I'm tired of compromise with what I'm putting into my car so this is the way I'm going.
The KSport coilovers are good but without the r&d going into them, doubt that the first ones are really going to be that great.
For the time I'd have to wait for the KSports, I'll have enough for the KW's.

the teins arent going to rust and if your referring to my pics i posted that because they have been sitting for about 8 months now. just like rotors that get surface rust, it comes right off.
I want to get into the KW v3s.
The Tein SS's are about the most complete system for a coilover in respects of cash:component ratio.
They are the only one's where you don't have to pay extra for the little things like soild mounts and adjustable front camber.
The optional EDFC is just icing.
So for guys like me that don't have the time, tools, ......time, money.......time, patience, money.......to buy all the extra components, then the Tein SS's are it.
Sure ideally, KW v3s, McMoney camber plates, w/wo muffins solid mounts.
Icing, some sort of EDFC.
Looking at it price wise on a bare car, suspension nothing....(not counting shipping) for $2500 strictly suspension
KW $2000
Plates: $200 (?)
Mounts: $200 (?)
Or
Tein SS $1300 +/-
EIbach Kit $300
Vibrant strut bars $100 for both
Rim Tire package $1000
That's how I figure it.

How can they not rust if there is surface rust. *puzzled look*
I'm lost on that one.
Surface rust is rust.
On coilovers, when you make your settings, they usually won't be changed. That surface rust can become worse rust which in time will lock up the threaded collars.
To me, that's a negative.
Yeah, I've got rusty struts now but when they're finally wore out , and time to replace, I want something better.
I've not ruled out the Teins for the Cavy yet either.
With the pillowball mounts and camber plates, are a great product for the money so again, it's not ruled out.
Mastin, I already have everything on the car as far as chassis bracing and bars. I've done more chassis bracing than most with Cavaliers so the Cavy is ready for something better than the usual spring/ strut combo. I have that already and see the need for improvement with the little bit of hard driving I've already done.
The Teins or KW's would be a very appropriate setup for what I've done to the car.
I didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Yeah, I saw your posts with your ultra bracing.
I'd like to do like you, with your trunk set up.
But Ineed a place to store the millons of headers I never use.
Still,
It basically boils down to which color a person prefers.
Folks with the Sunburst Orange metallic could go for some K-Sports

i understand what your saying, i guess i just had a difficult time wording it. its not really rusted on the part, i mean you dont have to grind anything to get it off, it will just wipe off like the rotors do. i agree with you that once you get your setting you'll probably never change it but its not rust that locks up the sleeves, its dirty and whatever debris kicks up from the road. you notice this alot after it has rained, if you dont clean them and you adjust the height on the sleeve, you'll get the debris stuck which is what makes it hard and almost lock up.
Stripped, that's cool and understand.
I wasn't really knocking the Teins for the mild surface rust but using it as a comparison with the KW's.
Teins are sweet and are being used by SportCompact Magazine for their project WRX. This is what got me interested in the Teins and again, am not set on which I'll be choosing.
It's great to know that companies are making some very decent products for our cars.
I remember the days when we had nothing and struggled for every bit we could to make our cars better.
Mastin, if you're ever interested in the parts list for the structural bracing I've done, I'd be glad to give you that list.
It's a very solid foundation for the J-body and I'm amazed everytime I drive the car.

i know but to me the kws are just over priced for something you can get for cheaper to do pretty much the same. when i had air ride i saw this too. it was either easystreet or air ride tech. while air ride tech was nice, it was about 1k more than the easystreet kit. its hard selling expensive parts to a community of cheap people. theres really only like 10% of us on there that really spend money on our cars.
Yeah, you pretty much hit it perfect with that last post.
This is one reason why I've not ruled out the Teins.
If you listen to what Mastin said, they (Tein SS) are truly the best bang for the buck in some serious coilovers. How can you go wrong?
So I'm still going to save my money and when I've got enough to pay for the KW's, I'll then make that decision.
Great topic and great thread.

Teins bodies are steel, the body is powder coated and the threads have a zinc coating. Even stainless on the Ksports will likely surface rust, it just won't rust through.
Read
this and you'll find out that they won't.
Some call it marketing but I call it a great product.
This is also what sold me on the KW's. Longevity.
I'd actually like to see the Teins undergo this test to see how well they hold up.
But again, I'm not knocking the Teins, and with my car, won't ever see a rainy day or wet pavement. So the rust won't ever be a problem for me.

I've had my TEINS for at least 3 maybe 4 years (I've had them for at least a year before they were available) now and not one spec of rust on them. They spent 1.5 years of their life a block from the ocean, have never been cleaned, and have really only been subjected to rain. No winter salt driving though. If I still lived in MI it could be another story.
I'm not knocking the KW's, we sell both coilovers, and some. The price point of the TEINS are pretty killer for what you get and most people don't need the extreme adjustability the KW's offer.
I am in the middle of the great coilover debate myself. I like the KW v1's with the dual spring setup ( though I think the rear spring rate is a little light ) and stainless valve body and I am sure I can make my camber plates work with them. The Teins seem great and seem to be an org favorite on da org as both the basics and SS's are cheaper than the KW v1's. I see even Gravana lowered the price of their coilovers to compete with Teins price points, but they still need camber plates ( I can again probably make mine work ) to compete with the super streets ( I can again probably make mine work ) My last option is to put my Mantapart coilover hardware ( which is still good ) on a set of Koni Yellows, but then is that being too cheap??
What I am missing is an actual Jbody owner with KW's to see how they like them. The problem is there probably is not one due to price alone
