After doing some searching, it seems like everybody is using the Hawk pads. lol
I'd still like to hear some testimonials about them though.
the 9.99 ones from autozone wich they discontiinued. so now there 14.99 i see no point in buying good brakes for my turd
Hawk have been out for the J's a lot longer than EBC, which just released them a year or two.
IMO honestly EBC is higher quality than HAWK, however both are good.

Do they both last equally long?
I love my HAWK pads.... I've got em on the fronts and rear neon swap. Have maybe only 100 miles on em so i couldn't tell you how their life is.... but damn does the car stop now!
I loved my Hawk pads but... I love my Wilwood pads a million times more

LOL
i love my hawks. virtually dustless. and gripped hella good!
First EBC has had pads for J's much longer than a year or two, more like 5+ years. I run Ceramic pads from Autozone. I know a few others who run them as well. They bite as good as EBC's last much longer than EBC and have no break dust!!!

I've used EBC Greens, Hawk HPs, and also Performance Friction Carbon Metallic. I prefer the initial bite of the Hawks and PFCMs, but I felt like the greens last longer before overheating. I autocross a lot too, so I run a new set of pads yearly atleast, I'm debating what to buy for 08.

I just bought a pair of the green stuffs for my GA, and everything ive read said they were good regardless of what vehicle they were on. That price at TTR is really good to, i found a price on amazon for around that much shipped, so depending on shipping it might be alittle more then what i payed. Also if you can track some down at a pepboys there like $30 on close out, but there selling out like crazy and hard to find.

Autozone Ceramics here as well. $45ish when i bought them last year, virtually no brake dust, and they still look almost new after 15k+ miles of hard use. haven't really had any problems with them fading, even on back-to-back-to-back-to-back drag runs, 95-15mph brake pulls..... altho, the rotors are starting to show it. Multiple hairline fractures starting to appear O_o
14.84 @ 92.04mph

Outdated sig pic FTW!

My understanding is that these kind of pads produce very little dust b/c they wear out the rotors almost as fast as the pads.

you see no point in buying good brakes? How about when you have to stop!!? I don't care what kind of car it is, good brakes will always be worth the investment in my book.
Checker pads here. Raybestos ceramic 12,000k and they look brand new still.

Are you saying that instead of the pads wearing the rotors wear instead? To my understanding the resin bonder, steel and iron fibers contribute to the low brake dust.

I'm not saying you are wrong, or correct. I do not know for sure. I also do not feel that rotors are a product that should last forever anyways. If this is the side affect I get then I'm ok with that. I hate brake dust.

Performance Friction carbon metalic, EVERY other pad i have used has had some form of break fad coming down from 100 fast, (the ceramic ones were very good though)
Hawk sucked, had break fad in brians car.
(we had to get out of some were fast, thay said my car was sparying over a yard of sparks.)
