well i was on my 5th easystreet bag in the rear and was sick of riding on blown sturts so i threw this together yesteryday.i deff need shocks but i am making a move to chicago from az in 2 days so i dont have time but should be done soon. well ill let the pics explain them selves
layd out
lifted almost full lift
and it got me a lil lower. i plan on getting bigger rim soon so these might change with the new rims to stay as low
i love your car but i officially hate you
jk, im sittin here tryin to design a 4 link with a straight axle
do you have any thoughts on how to do it?
basicly how the trucks do it. you would basicly have to make the front bars of our axle longer. you cant do it with the length of the stock 2 forward bars. they are so short it wouldnt even work if you tried throwing 2 more bars behind the axle. so basicly get 4 link bars and brackets and weld new bars farther forward under the car then find somewhere to have the rear bars mount. i am also thinking about trying to go this route whenever i get 20's who knows when that will be though
exactly what i was thinking but i might just do the same way you and esb did its cheaper that way too
what size bag are you running by the way?
looks identical to esb's setup that he had in the rear
only difference is the position of the bag mounts, esb was farther back, where he has them he gets better lift

yea it is the same i figured i would just show you guys. im gonna gt some kyb gr2 shocks and put them on there so its a nice ride. those are the same shocks that come in the suicide doors 5 link kit so i figured it should be good if they sell it for there stuff.
i think they are 2600 bags they are firestones BOOO haha but they were free and laying around so i put them on
wow, looks like you get a lot of lift out of that! any chance you can get measurements on the amount of lift?
_
Now with northstar V8, IRS, 20's n 22's
lol we are gonna be ridin dirty haha.... in the car i mean, well dropped on the bags... damn it you know what i mean. and how bad is the noise and ride in the back seat?
the ride is just bumpy but there is no noise its all good. i might have the shocks on by the shows.
and as for lift ill try to get measurements from full drop to full lift
damn andrew your car is sick,...sucks u leaving AZ. but maybe in the future ill remove my kit and go bagged

yellow22- looks good, what psi you running
travis if you want a 4 link in your cavi the best way to get a decent length bar is a reverse 4 link
whos car is this and what did he do with his k member
Looks good.
Is that dangerous, or is it safe to have it that way?
Yes, it's my REAL car. No, it is NOT photoshopped or "this is how my car will look someday". It's the REAL DEAL.
something about a cavalier laid out like that just brings a smile to my face.....
That would be my car, and I didnt do anything with my k member lol, ask yellow22 how it was done

With no shocks and a firestone bag it could very well be dangerous. If I ever get another J I will run only use slam specialty bags in the rear.
My car would hop off the ground while driving. One time in Austin on a crappy highway my friend said my rear came up about a foot of the ground while doing 60mph.
A nice temp fix would be running stock shocks. I was extreamly happy with how well it drove with the factory shocks. But you dont get full drop. I drove a year with no shocks. After I put the stockers in I never took them off. COuldnt get full drop but the ride was perfect.
I am all that is man
ok, to me the rear wheel/tire looks like its pushed WAY to far forward and is in the wrong spot...
is that supposed to be that way or am i just seeing things??? :S
On our cars when it is dropped as much as air ride drops it the axle moves forward causing the wheel to roll forward a smidge
i dont really think smidge is the word but it does suck it up. and it does look weird. there are ways to get around it too if you have the time and materials needed that is

i guess it could be but im just not running shocks till i can get me some kyb gr2 shocks and i will use the stock lower strut mount and i will weld the upper mount where ever it needs to be. the it will be all good
it is fun getting the car way off the ground.
