Coilover installation help
Thursday, September 06, 2007 6:56 AM
I am in the process of upgrading my Cavy. I havent worked on this car in quite a long time but I decided to bring in back out and finish everything on it. I just recieved my coilovers for this car. If you can give me some ideas of what struts and shocks to install on this car with those please do. I have never done alot of suspension work before so I am going to need a little help installing these. If you have a link on some installation instructions on installing the coilovers please help me out. Hope to hear from you guys

i prefer konis but if you dont know how to work with suspensions, dont get konis because the fronts are inserts and you have to cut up your stock front struts to install them. the only other strut that will work properly are tokico dspecs. there gonna cost you about 600 brand new but those are the only struts that will work besides konis. as far as pics, go to bradiscool.com and click on garage. there are pics of spring installs but its the same thing.

Thanks for the help guys. I have another question for you guys. I know this sounds stupid and please dont hate on me for asking it, but All the instructions that I have seen show when you are working on the back that it seems as if you have struts on the back or that your shock is already inside your spring. I have a 94 cavy and my springs that are on it areback behind the shock. Wit the installation of my coilovers I will be puttin the shock inside of my new coilover springs. So here goes with the dumb question. Will I have to remove the old springs that are already in the back and do away with them. Keep inmind that my old springs were not around my shock they are back behind the hub

I am no expert, but I would imagine that you would because you are replacing the spring with the coilover
