I was tightening those strut mount top bolts and found one of them is kinda loose.
The outer most bolt on passenger side does not hold tight and it just spins endlessly.
Is this simply replacable? And is it dangerous to drive like this for a while?
Please help.
sounds like it is stripped u need to re tap it and get a new bolt
if the nut wont tighten, it most likely isnt the nut, but the threads on the strut mount are messed up
It isnt that bad by the way, you have two bolts holding it there, and plus the two bolts where it connects to the spindle. The strut isnt going anywhere if thats what your asking

the easy fix is to replace. get a new strut mount. while youe strut isnt going to fal out..it does riskreaking the other ones loose form having to much play. for 85 bucks its cheap insurance
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
Well I had the same problem, I did not want waste money and re-instal the whole thing again, so I drilled a hole through the old bolt (that was left) and pierced through. I slipped the bolt through the hole and put a nut below it and tightened it from the bottom. Your car must be raised if you have already installed the struts.
sweet pic, that is what my car actually looks like, have you been following me?
Note that the torque for those top nuts on the mount is very light. Around 17 ft-lbs. It's very easy to overtighten them and this is the sort of thing that results.
If you work on your own car, a torque wrench is indispensible!
screw a torque wrench, nail the sucker down hard
