EBC or Hawk/Power Slot???
Monday, July 23, 2007 2:56 PM
I found on a couple different websites, EBC sport rotors and green stuff pads for about $205... another website I found power slot rotors for 139.95 and hawk pads for 64.99, which is about $205, so I was wondering since there is almost no price difference which would you go for...and why, or a review if you have had this combination... thanks for any input

Either one is good, EBC and HAWK are great products.

Let us know we will try to price match anyone.

We sell both and hands down the Hawk/Powerslot combo is our most popular. It's also the combo I recommend. It's a great combo for stopping power, low dust, long life, and virtually noise free.

If you want to go one step farther check out this package as it includes F&R Stainless Brake lines. It's a great way to firm up the brake pedal feel and keep it that way under hard repeated stops.

Other companies just jump out there and tell you it's good (they may tell you anything for your money) and that they'll price match, other companies will try and inform you why the product is good.

WOW Nice comment towards us, what did we do to you?

Both EBC and Hawk are great pads.

We sell equal amount of both and have never had a complaint. EBC has a very low dust rate also; Now if this was cobaltss.net we would actually say go with EBC as those are much more popular than Hawk with them.

Really funny you are putting down EBC and most likely because you do not carry this product line.

Simple -- a company is more likely to have useful customer feedback on a product they've actually sold before. Plus, most people feel more comfortable on the path better-traveled.

Never had slotted rotors, but I will swear by Greenstuffs. They have awesome stopping ability and are great when it's cold or the rotors are wet (as is the won't of Seattle).

To clear up Chris's post, the "Greenstuff" is the EBC brand.... Both brands have very positive comments and are of high quality.

I've heard mixed reviews from people using EBC's at autocrosses. Most of what I've heard about Hawk's is good, though a majority of them were actually running the HP Plus compound which is meant more for racing. That said, I think either pad will work equally well for the street but I would reccomend the Hawk's if you plan to do some more spirited driving like hill climbs or autocrosses.

If you don't mind brake dust, I've had a great experience with Axxis Ultimates.

I've got EBC Yellow pads and couldnt be happier, the bite great cold, I have yet to get them to fade, only downside is they have a bit of dust compared to stock but I can live with that. For rotors I went with EBC black dash rotors since they dont actually gave full slots in them. I'll post a pic.

I've got powerslots with brembo sports and I love them daily and at autocross. If I hadn't blown my engine this weekend I'd still be enjoying them.

I have Baer DecelaRotor's with Hawk Pads on my truck and I couldn't be happier, they have an amazing amount of stopping power.

Baer Decela are good rotors also, but for the J's I personally prefer the Powerslot.

well I guess (Aaron) can call me a traitor... I bought powewrslot and hawks from autoanything... they were the same price as turbo tech, but AA.com had a special, so I didn't have to pay for tax or shipping... saved about $65 from the two together...

On the other hand I can't put down the selection... @ turbo tech, it's probably one of the best sites for cavys
