Addco or eibach?

Ok well its come time to purchase my sway bar setup. Ive narrowed it down to either the eibach kit or the addco front and rear. Basically whats the better setup? a nice thing is i can get the eibach locally but still whats going to make my car handle the best..phil

I have experience with both... I will tell you it vary ALOT on what suspension setup you have.

I started off on my car running Road Magnet spings with Koni yellows. On that setup I ran the stock front sway bar with the addco rear bar and it handled great. The Adcco rear bar worked perfect for that up, but that was with a really soft comfortable spring rate. With the low spring rate the car loved having a biger bar in the rear then in the front. The next change was switching to Koni yellows and ground control coilovers and adding Eibach sway bars. Originally I was thinking the car handled really really well with a bigger bar in the rear then the front so I figured I'd out the Eibach front bar in and leave the bigger Addco in the rear. First time I took the car out autocrossing I realized that was a HUGE mistake, the grond controls have ALOT higher (close to double) spring rate then the road magnets and the high spring rate mixed with having a bigger bar in the rear then the front made the can damn near uncontrolable under extreme cornering, it felt liek the rear end was on ice, the front griped great and the rear just slide all over the place. So I decieded to swap the rear Adcco bar out for the Eibach bar and it made a world of difference, it was a night and day differnce in how the car grabed under hard corners. Thats why I say it depends alot on your suspension setup.

What spring/strut combo are you running? If your running a real stiff spring/coilover I would recomend Eibach bars. With a softer more daily driver friendly setup I would say Addco. Another variable is personal preference as well, the car will handle different with different setups and not everyone likes the same setup.

If you go with the Eibachs..... http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=3&i=122579&t=122579#122579

right now im on a koni yellow and sprint springs. I honelstly havent decided what im going to go with tho if i end up just putting ground controls on or going with the road magnets. Ive been thinking about going with the tein ss setup but its all depending on how the held strut mounts work out. If i can get away with using the yellows and going with a diff spring then i will. It sounds like the eibach kit will be the way to go since i do like a fairly hefty spring rate. As it sits i leave my konis set full hard with my sprints. I do like the drop the road magnets give tho..are they bad for autocrossing and daily driving?

You should think about going with the Ksport Lowering Springs. And the best place hands down to buy Addco sway bars is neverenoughauto.com. I havent found anyone else who sells them cheaper or as many of them.

smooth is fast

powering your car through corners sliding and fighting for traction will make you slower then braking early and turning smooth through corners.
