I posted a while ago about a grinding while braking and was told it could be a few things, Actually here is one post
One of them and here is the other
Other . Well Someone recently told me that it could be the brake booster going bad, can anyone confirm this?? Thanks!!
If one of the tires keeps moving while brakeing (reading from the other thread), there is still something wrong with the brakes, and not the axle(s)... granted they might be causeing some kind of grinding sound..
Id check the pads/rotors again for wear, irregular wear. Did both calipers move freely when you put the new brakes on? one isnt dragging? Do you smell brakes burning after driving? -- one of the pads might be overheating and fading and not allowing you to stop easily...
can you "feel" a grinding in the pedal when you step on it?
Have someone in the car drive slowly while you walk next to it with the hood up and see if the sound is comming from the booster, or from down by the wheel..
look inside the axle joint boots for metal shavings., maybe something broke.
check the fluid level?
brake light on?
correctly installed pads?
theres a million things that can cause there to be a noise.
id say your best bet is the driving and walking next to the car, if it does it at slow speeds then you should easliy be able to find it.
good luck!
