i was wondering if anybody else was having problems with the front struts falling apart inside? its like the piston on the end of the shaft just breaks off and then it jams up inside and dosnt drop it just binds up inside.
i never had a problem when i had mine and i havent heard of this. call jim and they should take care of it. sounds like a defective strut
i got the same thing. it sticks and wont come down till you move the car then it drops. ive been having lots of problems with my stuff and its just over a year. i do kinda beat mine up with some crapy roads out here in phoenix though.
oh and by the way jim cant do anything for you talk to corey or the other guy is jeremy now. talk to either of them and be warned they dont give as good of hook up deals that jim did. they charge me 20 more dollars for the rear bags now
^Im with him.
I beat the @!#$ outta my bags because of all the construction, and the occasional drag. So im sure my warranty is void. lol.
But i've got a blazer lined up (please let this one work!) so it may not be my problem anymore.
...
well it dosnt just bind the shaft moves side to side in the housing so my wheel alignment is all messed and these struts are not getting beat up.and before all of this not to long after i first installed it (in February) i went to retorqe everything and the top of one of the struts just sheared off below the nut and they said they would warannty it so i mailed it out and then they decided not to cover it so i ended up buying a new one anyways! i all so had a problem with those stupid rubber washers the little dowel would shear off and the camber would be all over the place so i got tired of buying them so i ended up just cutting the dowel off the washers on both sides and replacing it with a piece of nylon i cut out with a whole saw.this seemed to fix it. is their any other brands that go as low as the easystreet in the front? because i heard that the air ride ones dont go as low?
easy street fronts are the lowest
yup.
but i agree with you. My passenger side alignment is screwed up. Setting it, does no mercy. Because of the struts.
For a while I was doing fine. Shortly before i got the bind, my alignment started to go wacky, then when dropping it after coming home one night, I got the loud POP! which scared the @!#$ outta me.
Nothing you can do but replace the struts.
...
And yellow...
I know you want to design a better system, and I came up with something in my head the other day.
What if you use the stock strut knuckle, with a steel tube post to the bag. Then that to a mount. Like a bag over axle set up on a mini.
This way, you can get it lower
Then the hard part is trying to do a shock up front. That could be a problem.
...
thats what i had planed man. i was gonna do something else but decided to do what you just said there is a neon called cruical neon on street soure in the discussion forum that did this. very sick only neon i really like
is that the body dropped 4 door?
...
yea. he did cantilever in the rear and thats all he did for the front then trimed the frame above the front wheels so it slams. not really "body droped" so say but i guess you cant get a unibody any lower then laying pan on the floor.
