Lowering

Okay, so I know for a fact my struts are definitely blown. Whoever lowered my car before I bought it had the genius idea of using the stock struts and cutting the springs, so it's a major hack job down there, and I've decided to fix it, and fix it right.

I'm definitely getting a Koni Yellow Struts/Shocks package, but I was wondering which springs I should get.

Option 1, 1.7/2.3 drop: I could pay $225 for an Eibach Sportlines Kit and have a 1.7 drop in the front and 2.3 in the rear.

Option 2, 1.8 drop: I could buy a Sprint 1.8 inch drop kit in both the front and back for $190

Or I could spend $90 for a Tenzo-R 1.8 inch drop in both the front/rear.

If I could, what do you guys suggest? I don't know if I would like the rear of the car sitting lower than the front (Sportlines), but they've been suggested by a decent amount of people, so I know they're good quality. Does anybody have some shots of their car with this kit? Also, if I do decide to go with a 1.8 drop in both the front and the rear, what's the reputation on the Sprints/Tenzos? Are they about the same, or should I spend the extra $100 for the sprints? Thanks guys.

I'd hold out for a used set of Sportlines, if money is an issue. I saw a set in my local classifieds recently for $120, so they do come up once in a while.

The "lower rear" that the numbers suggest on the Sportlines is a bit misleading. They more or less level the car out by accounting for the forward rake they have when stock. Here's how my car sits with them:

Money isn't so much a big issue, I mean, I'll spend what I have to spend to do it right.

Although looking at your car, I think I'm liking the rear end sitting a little higher. Also, isn't it better for the rear end to be higher for launching traction? I'll probably end up stiffening up the rear end a bit, and setting the front soft. Thanks.

P.S. Since I think I've decided on a 1.8 drop all around, are the Sprints much better than the Tenzo-R's, or are they both about the same? Thanks again.

forgot to say i have the lip kit all around my car and the sportlines do level it out pretty good and the back does not sit lower than the front i was llike you i thought it was going to but it doesn't. but i also agree with you that the back should sit a little higher 1.8front and 2.0 back would be perfect i dont think 1.8rear will cut it.
