i recently put arospeed 2" coils in my 98 sunfire and it rides horrid. i might as well have just cut my factories. i want to ditch them and get new coils but have no idea which ones to get, plus i dont want to spend $200 on coils. so what will be to most drop and best ride for a affordable price???? ps rides like poop?
thats what happens when you install garbage on your car and lower your car with stock struts.
if you don't want to spend the money on quality parts, put your suspension back to stock and step away from the car. when it comes to suspension parts, good stuff isn't cheap. spending $200 on coilovers is the least of your problems, the struts you need to handle that type of drop are roughly $600 a set.
moral of the story, do your research and buy quality parts. you might be able to find a good deal in the classifieds on here. occasionally people snag really nice suspension setups(springs plus shocks/struts) for less that half of what they sell for new
They cant be as bad as coil overs! I have them and they are rough as crap! But damn it makes the car look good! Do you have old struts? Because my old struts were shot and made the ride worse!
if you arent going to do it right, why do it at all? especially on the suspension which is obviously a very important part of the car. i understand not wanting to pay a ton of money for quality parts, but all your going to do is ruin whay you have now, then have to replace everything anyways.
ebay coils = horrible ride and stupid
lowering on stock struts = horrible ride and stupid
combining the 2 = just plain retarded
and i would suggest NOT cutting your stock springs. thats even more stupid then what you have now.

Not to mention it would be bad to destroy the easiest escape route, once he comes to his senses and wants to revert.
Seriously though -- you might feel bad spending suspension money on a 9-year old econobox, but you can't have everything. Cheap / Good / Safe: You can only have two.

and 9 times out of 10, cheap will not be good or safe

True that. Cheap-safe = stock. Cheap-good = something you got second-hand that was broken and required some welding.

did u cut bump stops man? that would explain alot
you suppose to cut the bumpstops in half
i think the $20 ebay coilovers that were meant for another car explain it all
