How do the pads on youre J wear?
Do the outside pads wear faster than the inside ones? Mine do.
I have drilled rotors (im getting new ones soon--probably slotted or regular flat ones) but the outer pads were toast and the inside pads were barely worn...
Is this normal or is something up? It did it with the OEM Brake setup as well so i assume it is...
If its not normal, what do you do to fix that? I assume its normal because its the same % of pad wear on both sides of the car... Im not real hard on the brakes ever, and I dont really ride the brakes at all... I live in the country, and theres no reason to brake that much.
thoughts?
thanks for any help!
every set of pads i've had (4 now) have done it, and i dont know why either.

maybe the caliper sliders are not lubricated properly. All of mine (4 j's total) wear evenly.

mine too, the pins need to be lubed when you put things back together, the caliper could not be sliding back all the way after you apply the brake. give it a shot it couldn't hurt anything.
a couple comments on the subject:
1. Our outer pads are thinner out of the box.
2. Your pins do need lube, if you have to smack them with a hammer to move them back....take them out, sand them down lightly, lube them up with grease APPROVED FOR USE ON BRAKE SYSTEMS and get them sliding right.
3. when you have the caliper and rotor off, look at the area that the caliper bolts to, they are like 2 little squares. this is also where the inner pad rests. look to make sure your backing plate from the inner pad hasnt worn a groove into those preventing it from moving freely towards/from the rotor. You could be in a world of hurt if thats the case. This happens A LOT to a bunch of chrysler cars, trucks, and jeeps. and I have seen it bad on the J-s as well.
