Torque strut mount
Friday, May 04, 2007 5:14 AM
Driving down the road at 130 am and suddenly my lower motor mount shatters allowing my motor to drop and swing freely. I pull over and look under the car to see the mount be held on by one bolt, the other one no where in site. Next day I go to the dealership to get a new bolt and they tell me they don't carry them and cant order it either. Does any one know where I can find the bolt, its circled in red in the pic, thanks!

I dont know the actual part, but what u can do while waiting for an answer here is email gmpartsdirect.com. Ask them what the part number is. I did the same when I needed exhaust manifold studs. Thats messed up that the dealer couldnt order it for u though Thats the first time Ive heard of that. They probably didnt know the part number

Worst case though, Take the remaining bolt ( If its the same as the one missing, Im not sure ) and go to your local auto store and get a new one thats high grade of course.

junk yards are your friends also man, if of course u want to get the correct bolt... as for the dealer saying they 'cant' get it.. uhm yeah right-that a BS statement right there, i go my gm dealer and buy various bolts all the freaking time-they do get expensive, but at least they are the exact bolt that goes in.

I went to the junk yard today and there full of SHT. I ask them if they can pull the bolt for me and they said they dont have any cavalier in stock, but mind you i seen three. so I go back during a later shift and ask for the mount and the guy takes me to the car to show me the mount and then i tell him all i really need is the bolt, and his reply is they dont sell it seperate it comes with the mount!

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

^^^only if the hardware store has high enough grade bolts to match. don't want them shearing on you down the road.

All I would do is go into the junk crotch the bolt, Buy something else while you are there, Also I am pretty sure you can get one from the hardware store with no troubles either.

Good Luck man.
