Ok so i see all these posts about these sway bars making the ride stiffer? and i am wondering how much stiffer? shouldn't it just effect the body roll on the car?
any way i am looking for pics of the Addco sway bars on your cars as well as how you like them (good or bad) for daily driving (with what shocks/springs your on)
i personally will be on Gravana coilovers ...
and yes i searched as much as i could but couldn't get a good enough answer
The First Twin Charged jbody
blue car (R.I.P) - 240whp @7psi..
silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno
swaybar affects cornering, has no effect on daily driving.

thats what i thought.. but when i searched i was seeing all this stuff about being stiffer and such...
ok then my other question is, are the 1" bars to much for this size/weight of a car?

addco 1" rear sway bar + gravana coilovers = fun in the twisties
thats what i have and i love it. i'll eventually get the addco front sway bar, but for now i'm very happy with my setup. i know this didn't answer your question, but i felt like posting anyway

i have the koni reds and eibach sportlines. i love my addco rear sway bar.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
still on stock suspension, and i still love it. i have rear sway bar and front and rear strut bars. put them on in stages. the sway bar was first, and i could definately tell a difference, it makes daily driving better, and the twisties more fun for sure

i know its a bit off topic but did the strut bars do any thing for you? me and my old man are both kind of scepticle on them, as to if they work or not... but i definatly like to hear that about the sway bars and fun driving

I only have a intake and front strut bar with my addco rear bar and I gotta say the bar is the best money I ever spent, makes driving the car so much fun, whipping around corners and I find even weaving in and out of traffic is a lot smoother.

Our cars don't experience as must strut tower flex as the majority of cars on the market since they are held in place by the firewall and at the fender. Still, strut bars make a significant difference in the handling of the car, IMO. I prefer the GM front bar over the other designs on the market because you can attach it to your firewall and make it more robust.
Adding a sway bar won't make your daily ride any stiffer, the car will just experience less body roll when cornering.
Any reason you went with the Gravana's over Tein's? Gravana charges extra for the camber plates and I don't think they have pillowball mounts in the rear.
I had the Koni yellow Sport kit (Springs, Struts, etc) along with the Addco F/R anti-swaybar and strut tower braces. The whole works.
I installed everything as it came in. Strut tower braces and swaybars came in first. I didn't do the front swaybar right away, because I knew I would have to take the front suspension apart anyway due to the springs/struts. So to begin with I installed the front strut tower brace and the rear swaybar.
I immediately noticed an increase in steering response (my car felt practically psychic, like it would start to move almost before I moved the wheel relative to stock)
I also noticed an immediate increase in the ability to rotate the car around cones at autocross. On sticky tires with the factory springs with the swaybar and front brace I could pick up the inside rear tire about 3".
Just a rear swaybar on factory springs did not affect daily ride quality, it was still squishy as all get out.
With the full package installed, and the settings that I used for autocross, virtually all body roll was eliminated. The strut settings that I used for autocross however were very harsh riding on regular roads.
I typically changed back and set the struts to full soft for daily driving. You got a little body roll back (not much) but the ride went from Jarring to what I would simply call "firm." Roads with lots of potholes could rattle you pretty good, but on decent quality streets I never had any problem. Plus even at full soft you had plenty of handling power to play *dodge the pothole* and have a lot of fun doing it.
With the adjustable struts in that setup, I could tune the car to understeer, oversteer or be relatively neutral, so overall I was VERY happy with it.
The sport kit lowered the car about 2" to get the front control arms parallel with the road. The box said 1.8, but it looked closer to 2.
I'd say that strut tower braces by themselves don't do much to increase the handling capabilities, but they add overall chassis stiffness which is a good supporting mod to do. Plus it's relatively cheap and easy.

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
I installed an Addco rear bar on my Cavy while it still had stock suspension, and the one place I noticed a difference was in "emergency" maneuvers. I found that if I quirked the wheel at highway speeds, the car would recover and settle into its new course more quickly and predictably. I've since installed Sportlines and D-Specs, so I assume it's still part of the equation even though there was obviously improvement in all aspects of handling with the new struts.

Upgrade your front endlinks, when I had my stock bar I tossed on some poly Energy Suspension endlinks.....you'll be amazed at the improvement with the stock bar. Best $20 spent on that car.
Also had the Addco rear.

I already know you made yoru decision but ill just add my .02 cents to maybe help anyone else. When I got both bars a friend of mine put the rear one on first and you will notice a majority of the handling difference w/ the rear bar on. Very easy install on both front and back and make a world of difference in the Jbody. Also as far as strut tower bars, I noticed a bigger difference adding the front rather than the rear and i think they are worth it. I mean lets be honest, you can buy both for under 150 and every little bit of bracing helps. Ill be honest I love the set up I have to death, ill drive my brothers 4 door stock cavy every once in a while and its like night and day in the difference between the two. I say you made a very good purchase and you will love them.
