Tubbing for bags. (4door)
Thursday, December 28, 2006 8:40 PM
Alrighty, so I did some searching and seen a few tubbed setup's for 2doors, and read that tubbing for a 4door hasn't been done yet. (due to where the door/wheel well meets)

So is it just impossible to tub because of the door? or is it that nobody wants to give up their rear interior?

Even if you could only tub say 1-2 inchs... Would it be worth it to get the rear almost on the ground?

My main goal is just to get the ass end down low enough to drag. (using blocks, but not in a way that is going to show the blocks at ride height)

I plan on rolling the fenders, and all, but I just want to try to get that extra 1inch outta the drop.

I dont see how it would be hard to do. If you keep the width of the tub somewhat similar to what you have currently, it shouldnt really affect your interior that much since 3/4s of the tub would be in the trunk anyway. You could add a fair bit of height and still get away with it. I think I could even put my rear bench seat back in my car even with a larger tub in the rear.

I have looked at it... I wouldnt do it but thats just me. My car sits low enough as it is. You could prolly get away with just cutting the inner part of the fender out and leave the fender iside the car alone. That would give you a little bit more play.

im to much worried about width, as I am being able to close the door tightly. lol.

If you see some tub's when you open the door, oh well. We'll just call it a arm rest....

its not that bad lol. you could do it in a day or two. its not that big of a deal. as long as you have a welder and something to cut with your set.

problem a and problem b. lol.

I'm going to try to get all the measurements and what not from someone that's tried it, or finished it, then copy cat off of that.

But apparently, nobody here has done it.

So looks like it's going under R&D at my friend Jakes garage. He's a mini trucker, so im sure he'll be all over this. lol

you might have to cut just a lil out of the door. which i dont think would be a problem. but i have no clue since i have never done or seen a 4 door car tubed in person

thats what I was thinking too.

I figured i'd have to cut some of the door, as well as the interior to make a tub work. But we'll see when its all ready for tubbing

I might be able to lend a hand through pics etc from my car even though its a 2 door. It might give you a pretty good idea of what you're dealing with. Add me on msn - bagdfire@hotmail.com or AIM ijeffyi

Well I just dropped mine off at a shop here locally that body drops trucks all the time and he said give him a good month and he is gonna be doing my four door front and rear. He thinks the door is gonns need to be trimmed a little, but he thinks when finished he should be able to sit it on the ground in the rear and hopefuly with some good hacking in the front as well.
