Read the FAQ still am confused

I've never really been in to suspension which explains my lack of knowledge in this area. I want to lower my car, probably about 1.2" front and 1.5" rear. At the same time I want a good ride quality and some adjustability.I am doing it right the first time so no lowering springs. I am still confused on the difference between buying a complete coilover kit and buying a conversion. What is the main difference between something like the RK Sport Kit With H&R Springs and then the KONI 1130-1300 Cavalier Sunfire Sport Kit Suspension - Complete Springs & Shocks. I found all this at gravana (www.gravanatuning.com). Thanks in advance. (P.S. BE NICE!)

Here's the simple answer to your problem: buy the Eibach Pro-Kit and a set of KYB AGX dampers. 1.5" drop all around and properly damped. Bolts up, and you'll never have to think about it again. Gravana also offers Tein springs with Tokico struts in a package for about the same price, and those would be a straight bolt-up, complete installation as well. The Gravana coil-overs, Tein type Basics or Super Streets, and both of the KW coil over systems are bolt-up and complete but they are probably overkill if you're really not too interested in the suspension side of things.

The RK Sport thing you are looking at is a set of coil-over sleeves and B&G springs only. This is not a complete setup, you would still need dampers, and Konis at that. Only the Konis would be able to handle those spring rates.

The "Sport Kit" is a set of Koni strut inserts and a set of B&G springs. The Koni's take some minor fabrication to get on your car. They don't bolt up. But this would be a complete setup if you did the work to install them.

how about links for the stuff?

also doing it right the first time doesnt mean you cant use lowering springs. if you want a low drop get the kyb agx struts and eibach prokit lowering springs. very great combo, its a popular choice and the agx struts are adjustable. together the whole thing would run you about 500 brand new.

do you want coils because you think their better than lowering springs? or do you want them because you want to be able to adjust the height?

Just to correct some misinformation. RKS sleeves use H&R springs. Koni sport kit uses springs maunfactured to KONI's specs. I *think* Vogtland manufactures the springs.

The easiest installation are the TEIN superstreets because they come with strut mounts (pillowball mounts w adj camber plates in the front) already bolted on.

All of the rest of the setups will require new mounts, depending on the year of your car, or require you to disassemble your factory struts and reuse your old mounts.

I have been looking at the KYB AGX's, so far I can only find the struts for around $550. Did you mean $500 for the struts and springs or just the struts. Also is that it? The AGX's and eibach pro-kit, anything else I would need. thanks again

I would also like to know where to get the struts and springs for $500 together. Best prices I have found are $220 for the springs, and $350ish for the struts.
