i am going to try and install them tommorrow and could use any helpful hints or any input at allon the installation process.i know they are not the best but for 300 for the whole setup i cant complain
I have a helpful hint for you. Throw them away and start again. All joking aside, you'll want to see if you can't get your money back for those and read the FAQ for the suspension forum. I don't think anyone here will really condone your use of those springs, simply for liability reasons. Saying "they are not the best" is an understatement of catastrophic proportions. They arn't designed for your car, and are therefore dangerous. I wouldn't pay someone $1 to break my car, I wouldn't spend any more on a part that would do the same thing. I'm sure you get the picture. If you are low on cash, like I am at the moment, save your money. If you are really impatient buy an Eibach Pro-Kit and some AGX struts, that's the cheapest option I've seen around here.
they are really that bad.what is the problems with them
the struts they give you are oem replacements. the coils will blow them. the spring rate is too high, etc....
bottom line their garbage
spring rate is too high if you like bouncing around all the time they'll be fine.
The spring rate is too high and the struts are not capable of the spring rate. Struts will blow and your handking will be very rough.

i have been reading alot of the old forums, faqs, and anything else on the site about these and the main thing seems to be the bouncing.i have been banging for almost two years and about now i think i would like the bounce.
the eibach pro kit with kyb struts is what i have been trying to afford for a year, but i finally gave up
The stock spring rate is around 175. DZs are around 400+, and are quite inconsistent due to poor manufacturing. The struts are literally re-badged OEM replacements that aren't good for any drop at all. The combination will quantifiably degrade handling and be noticeably uncomfortable. Sorry to hear you got suckered into them, I would definitely try to return them.
Bill, if you're stretched to afford a set of the pro-kit and AGXs I would suggest a couple of things. And I'm not kidding here.
1. Evaluate where your money is going. You've spent $300 on a set of springs and dampers, so I know you can save something. You're looking at $700ish, you wern't that far off. If this is really what you want to do for a hobby, or a lifestyle, see what you can cut out. Those trips to McDonalds, that stack of CD-Rs and stuff like that really adds up.
2. Evaluate your job (income.) Could you be making more money somewhere? I bet you could. If your job isn't paying enough, get a better one. It'll take some work, but it'll pay off when you're making better money.
3. Check out the classifieds here, or ebay. I checked Gravana Tuning and found that a Pro-Kit and AGXs are roughly $700, maybe $800 all said and done. I've been told you can find those parts for less on ebay, and I bet you could find a used set here for around $500 or so.
I don't mean to sound rude at all so please don't take it that way. I want to see you enjoy your choice of hobbies, and do it safely. If you've been trying to save $700 for an entire year and you can't, you need to figure out what's going on with your money.
^^^^don't waist your time... this guy is another cheap ass J-body owner, liek this moron they want to be real low so it looks "cool" they aren't concerned with safety, handling, and how well the car will hold up.
Bill, when you post back in a couple monthes posting about how you were going around a bend in the road and you hit a little bump and the rear end hopped off the ground and came out and your slam a median I'm gonna laugh my ass off.
Spend the money and do it right the first time, its like if you need a kidney transplant, would you run over to a graveyard and take a kidney from a dead guy? Hes dead and starting to decompose, smells liek @!#$, everyone tells you its a bad idea are you gonna say well I need a kindey transplant and this will get me a different kidney? Your ghetto ass supension is liek the kidney from the dead guy, it definetly defeats the point of suspension if your gonna "upgrade" to a dead kindey (your setup)

I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt.
As said, these shouldn't be installed.

Sure you can. You've spent $300 for something you can't safely use. I'd complain.
i am an idiot!the dropzones almost killed me.i first tried them out on the streets around my house and right away they are terrible.i think i have another problem possibly with the mounts bearings im really not sure but they bang reaaly bad.so the next morning i was going to work on the highway, running a little late iwas doing about 75 i hit a dip in the road and bounced so bad i hit the sunroof so hard it should of smashed and my neck is still bothering me 3 days later.thanks to whoever told me not to try them.this car is my baby and im a serious cavalier lover.i have had an 88 z24 and also an 89 z24.chevy all the way.the reason i bought them is because i listened to a friend of mine who is a mechanic and has them on his prelude and said he likes them and they are a decent setup so thats why i went with them without checking on here first.
and yet you still installed them after everyone told you not too. sucks for you

OWNED
you were warned
1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
5-spd
When i first bought my cav i made the mistake of buying those dropzones cause at the time it seemed like a good idea. WRONG!!! I ended up bouncing on the highway cracking my radiator causing my motor to overheat really bad causing some valve damage. Well, after i put in my new Eco the first thing i did was purchase the Koni Yellows and Eibach Sportlines for my ride. And now i have ZERO complaints and love the handling and ride quality. It pays to research and save money. Cause in reality you get what you pay for.

I can't tell if Bill is kidding or if he's serious.
wheather he is lying or telling the truth doesnt change the fact that thats what those struts will actually do to a car
what the hell would i lie about and for what possible reason .they suck i admitted it and saturday they will be gone drop zone for a good price anyone interested?i am getting gabriel struts for now and using my old springs.the banging that there was and still its there could that just be my mounts?i have 55,000 miles ,but like i said my struts needed to be changed for a long time could that of damaged the mounts?
The mounts go bad on their own, they do that. If you hear "banging" and everything else is tight back there, then the mounts could certainly be bad.
they are $80 each for the front and 40 each for the back at my local store is there somewhere on the internet i could get them cheaper?if i am going to change the mounts are ther any other things that should be changed also?bump stops, bushings, etc.
That's a reasonable price for the mounts.

After what you just went through, can you seriously in good conscience consider selling them to someone else?
I'd throw them out, take the loss, and chime in here whenever you see someone else posting about getting them. Let others learn from your experience, since they never seem to listen to the rest of us when we tell them not to do it.
