If you have never run before you should keep the car stock for a year before making adjustments. Improvements in the car will cover up your driving mistakes.

Well those answers had absolutely nothign to do with what the best coilover setup for auto X would be.....

I'd recomend anythign with adjustable stuts, if you get a quaility setup you really can't go wrong

The Tein type Basic coilover dampers are not the "adjustable" struts that Darkstars was talking about. The Tein Super Street coil-overs, Gravana's coilovers, KW V3 coil-overs, Koni "yellow" dampers, Tokico D-Spec dampers, and KYB AGX dampers have adjustable valve bodies which allow you to dial in compression and rebound characteristics of the dampers. This is the feature Darkstars was suggesting you look for. If you are looking for coil-overs specifically, you'll want to look at Tein, Gravana, KW and the Koni dampers with some Ground Control coil-overs.

The KW V2 would be comperable to the teins, but like gravanas coilovers they were actually tested on a J-Body as opposed to made close to j-body weight specs.

However the Teins do come with solid mounts and pillowball camber plates for the front.

For the record I'll be running Teins next year in STS.

I'm confused by this sentance. I know both the Teins and Gravanas were tested on J-Body vehicles before production, are you suggesting that the KWs were not? I think this is the second time I've seen it suggested that Tein did not test their suspension before production and I know for a certainty that this is not the case.

I think the comma threw you off. The KW's were tested in a J-body many times. I talked to the guys at KW before they were released. I didn't think the teins were designed specificaly for the J-body tho, good to know otherwise.

As far as price for performance the Tein SS are the best option IMO, second choice would be KW with gravana pillowball mounts.

i run the tein ss' on my sedan for autox and i love them. they handle better than the goldline/koni yellow setup I had on the car before.
