gm strut bar help

Now i consider myself to be pretty techanically inclined but i might be wearing a stupid hat today....a buddy of mine works at a local chevy dealer and was able to locate a gm strut bar for my car i gave hime the model number that i found on this org. for the 02 cav that has cruise control. i got it today it fits but the cruise control doesn't and neither does the pcm (i think thats what it is) on the pass firewall. I was able to modify the brace to fit the cruise but that other box is a no go. Since i has a AEM cold air intake i found a home for the "box" where the airbox used to reside is that fine or should i be hit in the head w/ a tack hammer? The brace came with a plate welded on it for the cruise but my cable is to long(hate that problem hahahaha....) and makes the cc box sit to high to clear the hood. By the way its a 02 cav w/ cc. So all i wanna know is did i do it wrong or is there something i'm missing OR is moving that "box" ok.

GM didn't make a bar for anything 01+ (stopped making the verts). You probably have the bar for a 2200 motor, not the Eco.
If it's not hitting anything and not going anywhere I'd call it good.
