Just a general question of how difficult the installation of an Addco front sway bar is and also if anybody has and comments/feedback on the DC Sports lower rear tie bar.
I've got an addco and absolutely love it. Really a large difference.
For difficulty I would give it 3.5 out of 5 wrenches.
It requires disconnecting the sub-frame from the uni-body, and dropping it about 6 inches. This can go easy as pie, which it did for me when I did my car. Or it can be a royal pita, as it did for my sister's car when one of the bolts was rusted so bad it snapped in half. I suppose it was better to have the bolt break off while working on the car than while driving....
Anyway, it's about the most extreme thing a typical weekend warrior will do. Plenty of people have done it without issue, but if you have no tools and no ambition you should leave it to a pro.
Its a good 5 hour job the first time you do it. After you figure everything out in the future its an easy 1-2 hour job to drop the frame install the bar and bolt everything back up.
I put the front of my car on jack stands unbolted the steering rack from the subframe and used the jack to keep the subframe from falling in the rear. You'll see posts of people trying to snake it in and having to unbolt the steering column but its unnecessary.
Make sure the bar isn't upside down when you install it, you won't want to have to get back in there, and yes I speak from experience. Also the bushings are directional so make sure the notch on the bushing matches up with the notch on the subframe.
