Ground Control Drop Question
Wednesday, October 25, 2006 6:08 PM
allo,

I was just curious about something looking at my car the other day, im dropped on Ground Control Coilovers on Koni Yellow struts.

I had the same setup on my 02' cavalier b4 i got my sunfire.

Now my question is are the fenders on a sunfire cut higher than those on a cavalier? because when i had this setup on my cavalier i could put the coils down to like an inch from the bottom and have less than 1 finger of gap on the front. Ive also seen pics on JBO of members running the same setup and they are tucking wheel in the front with the coils slammed.

With my sunfire, i have them all the way down right now and i have about an inch of gap in the front.

The only other thing i could think of is the fact that, i had to re-purchase my ground controls for my sunfire, since the ones on the cavalier were ruined when the car was totalled. Is there any chance that Ground Control started sending taller front springs with their kits?

Any help would be appriciated with this, its been bothering me for a while

Here is a pic of my sunfire for referance, the coils in the front are all the way down....

Thanx for any help i can get !!!!!!!!!!!

All I can tell you is I ordered my GC's with 1" taller springs, and it still goes as low as the car will allow, yet raises to stock height (maybe even a touch higher), so I see it as the way the SHOULD be shipped. Do you WANT less than 1" anyways? Won't you get rubbing driving around like that?

15.3 @ 89.97mph, 14's on the way?

heh. I've been recommending this for years.

Are the wheels/tires the same size on the Sunfire as they were on the Cav?

ya they are the exact same tires as on the cavi, they weren't damaged in the wreak.

i drove with no wheel gap on my cavi and i had no rubbing issues what-so-ever.

i know its bad for my CV joints and the rest of the suspension to drive like that but im not to concerned about that really.

i think have taller springs than i had with the cavi......ill have to measure one day and compare.

Anyone else??
