suspension combo opinion, if anyone has experience

I have a 97 Sunfire SE sedan, and am thinking of KYB-GR-2's and Eibach Pro-kit for springs . . . nothing to agressive.

just looking for a casual drop, yet capable of withstanding occasional cornering and turning when i feel like i'm driving a race car. Also I want to put some 17's on it in time.

so im just curious what other people have encountered with this setup on sedans, if anyone, and also if people think or know that i will be fine.

i have read about all the warnings on gr-2s, but they are a good price, and the Eibachs won't max them out from what i have read. like i said just a casual drop, no auto-x-ing ever in the forseen future, and then just some 17's later on.

any more info and insight will be greatly appreciated!

thanx a bunch people!

I would suggest spending the $350 or so and getting the AGX shocks and struts. The GR-2's are gonna crap outm fairly quick on any sort of drop.

what does fairly quick mean? do you know for a fact?

i would like a little more helpful of a response then "they are gonna crap out fairly quick"

more knowledge and opinions, anyone?

gr-2s are a stock replacement and not meant for lowering. it says so in the faq. spend the money for the agxs. suspension is one thing that you don't want to cheap out on

"they are gonna crap out fairly quickly" mean they'll never be able to control those springs completely in the first place, and not at all within a year. Tokico HPs are about the same thing, maybe a little longer.

I highly suggest the ProKit & AGX combo. It's extremely popular and has a proven record of working well. You also don't void any warranties. Read the FAQ, tons of good info in there.

seriously read the faqs. this is all dicussed there. also search. if you want the prokit, get the agxs to go with it. its a great combo and many people have it. if you get the gr2s or the hps (both just oem replacements, not meant for lowering) they will wear out quicker and blow. can anyone tell you when they will blow? no cuz it all depends on the roads and driving habits but i know they will blow within the first year. if you wanna waste money on it cuz you dont wanna wait then go head but when they blow you'll either be riding on a @!#$ty suspension bouncing all over the road or you'll have to shell out 380 more bucks for agx then another 60 or so for another alignment. its up to you.

if you want to go low Gr-2's will blow. Koni Yellows, and D-Specs for any drop over 1.5" AGX's for up to 1.5"

you can get the AGX's on e-bay for around $350.00 shipped and a pro kit for about $200.00->$250.00 shipped. $600.00 max and you shouldn't have to replace them for a long time. With GR-2s its not a question if IF its a question of WHEN. Theres nothing better to light up my day than to see some stupid idiot bouncing up and down on the road because he cheaped out on the suspension.
