yea did it snap the thread off the top of the strut where it screws into the upper mount, Ive heard of this problem, It comes from turning while the car is low if not all the way down, it directs more force on the threads at the top and they break off.

no... it snapped inside the strut itself.. at the base..

this is why im confused... especially cnsidering the milage actualy on these struts

might be a year and a half or better but it is well under 5k miles

they re designed the struts recently... so i shot them an email

we'll see what they say..

my orig. crappy goldline springs that i got are still on my ex's cav and she put 60k+ miles on them

so lets just say if i can only expect 5k miles out of bags i will not be replacing these with bags

tein or gravanna might be hearing from me shortly

if i remember from esb you can purchase new struts through easystreet and i think they are 95 a piece

That 5Kmi doesn't mean much in itself. It really depends on how low you were for those miles. At 2" lower than stock that 5 really equals about 15. At 2.5 it's more like 25. It's your laying it out and driving on that constantly it's 50 or more. Driving low wears stuff out.

thats the thing... i would understand if i did that...

but i would park it, drop it, raise it and drive off...

id ride just low enough to have a decent ride, not slammed by any means

That sucks, how much of PSI do u usually run in front and rear?

I usually drive 30 in front and 40 in rear without any wheel gap. I had no problems. Also I agree its always decent ride for being that low for me.

Talk to Jim @ Easystreet. Hes the man!

i usually run quite a bit higher than that (street fire kit and 8 inch wide wheels)

You're running higher than I do. I dont see you abusing the suspension. lol

Jim should be able to take care of it for you.

Good luck!

i have no choice... if i ran with no wheelgap i would tear my bumper off and cut all my tires LOL

not to mention thats WHY i have air...

pick it up to go

drop it when its parked

i know i didnt hit any major bumps to cause it, cause well i'm SURE i would have tacoed a wheel at the same time so it has to be a defect...

ill see if they respond tommorrow and go from there

at least im not the only one that has to run higher, with 19's 8" wide and the streetfire kit i have to run at around 65 front 70 in rear to not have any rubbing issues or risk damaging the front end.

i'm having the same problem too on both fronts, when i dive at 45 psi up front i'm hearing some clunking and also when i'm dumping the air out of the front the front it feels like something in the strut won't let the go all the way down and i too talk to jim and waiting for him to come back on monday. This sucks cause my car is a DD

Re: here is a new one...
Thursday, August 03, 2006 2:10 PM
at 45 psi in the fronts i'd be rubbing over every bump in the road.
