currently im sitting on skunk2 coilovers..which im not pleased with at all. im looking to get a nice drop...and have been looking at sprint. if i could get some feedback from people with a 2.2 that have then. if they are pleased with them and if it is an even drop. i have heard stories about people getting an uneven drop on cars sometimes and i dont want that to be me.
Well with ur skunkcoilovers did u upgrade struts as well? u could switch to sprint springs with the same struts and still have the same crappy ride..

Well I didn't have a 2.2, but I had them on my '99 Z. The drop looked great, but I can't really give you an accurate description of how they ride because I had them installed on stock struts (it was 2002 and I was young, dumb, and broke lol). your probably not pleased with it because your on stock struts. i had skunk2 coils with koni reds and it wasnt that bad for me.
I have Sprint springs. They're advertied as 1.8" drop but they're closer to an even 2" after they settle. This picture was taken at the JBOI meet in April, about a week after I installed them. I measured them at just short of an inch and 3/4 the day we installed them and the morning of the meet I measured them right at 2". I measured them about a month ago and they're holding at 2" so I'm not sure if they'll settle anymore than that. Whatever you do, get some decent dampers. The spring rates are pretty high compared to stock but if you use the proper parts the ride isn't terribly harsh. Hell, I take my 80 year old 96-pound grandmother on trips around Des Moines and she doesn't mind the ride too much.

I use D-Specs on mine but Koni Yellows work well too. I ended up blowing one of the rear struts so I'm back on the stock struts until I get replacements, which is fine, the car sits in the garage a lot lately lol. I don't recommend running stock struts, they won't handle the spring rates at all. D-Specs work really well, the issue with mine was just a freak thing, I bought them used and I don't really know what caused it ,and it was jsut one corner. The others were fine but running with one corner blown is about as bad as running on stock struts in my opinion.
"Dampers" is just another term for shocks or struts.
All you will need is the springs, struts (D-Specs or Koni Yellows), I also recommend new upper strut mounts if your car has a good amount of mileage on it, and of course an alignment. That's about it.

well an alignment is require after doing a swap like that but you can reuse your strut mounts if their in good working condition.

I've had them on my car for 4 years now, and I like them OK. The car handles great with them, but you feel every bump. Good struts will at least control them so you won't bounce, but expect a well handling but rougher ride.
ln2Johnny, you probably have a smoother ride because you're on the 15s. Obviously shorter side walls coupled with higher spring rates will multiply the harshness.
Oh yeah, the sidewall helps. I'm back on the 15s that are in that picture I posted when this thread first started, but when I was on the Shelby 16s, there was a noticable difference due to the shorter sidewall. I can only imagine what they'd be like on a 17 or 18" wheel.
But I gotta ask, how do you stand it on those Sensatracs? After I blew the rear D_Spec I threw on a new set of OE replacements I had bought and never used and they lasted me about two days LOL.

Sprints are great and good price. But dont keep them on Facotry struts long or u will be bouncing all over the place. Good lord it sucked!
i have a setof sprints sitting in my garage for sale. yeah the ride is rough but damn i love the control on the road.
So how would you think Sprint Springs on Koni Yellows would ride on 18 wheels?

rides just fine. i run a 225/40/18 tire and Sprints and yellows and the ride is darn good. very tite but liveable. the car sits very level. i love the Sprint springs.
on my 17's on certain roads they hurt. plus my woman complained all the time about boob bounce with the springs.

^^^^ lol. Getting back on topic. I ended up purchasing the sprints because the sportlines rear springs would lower my car too much. And i think that a 1.8 from the sprints would be perfect especially when they settle in.
I also found a couple pics on J-body with a guy that had the same rims and tire size as me with the same koni yellow and sprints. So that really helped my decision on choosing sprints.
My sprints weren't bad. I tollerated them on stock struts for a while. they were also used with 16" wheels so I had some extra softness. I ended up selling mine to MantaZ and I purchased a set of H&R sport springs. I want something that wasn't quite as low since some of my roads here are pretty bad I and bottomed out the car not the suspension on 1 road and you can see marks in the floor pan. I didnt mind them otherwise I enjoyed the handling with them as well.
