Ive got the Tein S-Techs w/Tokico D-specs...about one month ago..
Problem is this, The front is just fine and dandy, the rear is another story, I have put on 3 Washers(spacers) per side and tightened to spec, but I still have the same problem...A bang in the rear end over moderate bumbs, or railroad tracks..
I dont know how to solve this and need some help...Some one here on the Org, must know what I need to do? - HELP!
It sounds like I'm bottoming out or something. I only have 13,500 miles on the vehicle. Stock mounts were in fine shape, no problem there,

mounts may look fine but i bet if you get new rear mounts, it will solve your problem

Exactly!
Your description is a textbook example of bad mounts.

Are new mounts really the answer? Even with such low miles?

Did you cut the bump stops?
Was it needed in the rear? Install did not require it?

Yes and Yes. Bumpstop should have some out with the upper mount adn cover, then you should have cut about an inch off of it. If you didn't there is gour banging as you are hitting the bump stop, alot.
Stripey, I bought all new mounts when I did mine, didn't cut anything either. Take the stack of washers out and try 1 thick spacer. I used an old nug nut off a picup truck on mine, shut them right up. The deal with the washer stack is I don't think you can get it to torque correctly, I tried that first and it continued to make noise but I tried useing a single thick spacer and that did the trick. I had to do my fronts as well cause they were creaking and banging but once I installed a single spacer the problem went away. Try this before you go cutting your mounts cause as I said I didn't and I have no problems and since were running the exact same setup I can't see yours being any different.

Jackalope, I think that I will try that. I hope it works out too.
Will it be a problem, if the lugnut is a little bit thicker than the stack of washers?

Nope, in fact thats what I wound up useing. Just try not to cover too too much of the threaded portion of the shaft, a little won't hurt but don't go nuts!

Not the mounts the bumpstops.....and normally the issue only arose with the fronts needing the spacer, Jackalope yours is the first I have heard that neeed them on the back as well.
Hmmmm, Stripey's is the same as mine. I wonder if Tokico changed the struts or something ? But yeah the rears threaded portion stops before the nut makes contact with the mount. Polo also had the same issue too.

Why are you complaining about banging in the rear of the car? Is it because the car's backseat is small?
I'm complaining because this setup cost me a major amount of cash!!
And I am not happy with the rear banging the way it is.

Easy Stripey that was a joke. Ya know, ha ha funny type thing. Anyway man don't sweat it ! Just put the nut in there and drive around a day or two and you'll see.
Of corse if by chance this does not fix the problem you may want to call Tokico and see what they have to say.

I know Jack, ole' buddy...but I need an answer not some crap!
But I will say I'm sorry...cause that was a bit harsh....

Is it a bang or a thump? It could be the axle hitting the exaust. mine did that until i got the exaust rerouted. I don't remeber if you had a bolt on exaust, or a custom made one.
Go Go OG Traction!!
Its custom welded up and everything, but I think that will be the next step to look at, as its more a thump than the bang.... Maybe your right! I'll check it out
Thanks.

Once again did you cut the bumpstops when you assembled the struts, if not that is your problem.....been there done that, wrote the book, went on the New York Times Best Sellers list.
Trust me on this okay?
Or send me a PM and I will come show you.
Bumpstops were cut in the front only...good to go there.
Rear were not cut, should they be, and if so, by 1" or is more needed?
