got problem with powerslot and hawk pads?
Saturday, June 24, 2006 5:39 PM
hey everyone,

it's been a week now since i changed my brakes with powerslot disc and hawk pads, then i noticed that my driver side is not seated properly because the disc is rough and i can see lines of uneven fading, compared to my passenger side it's smooth and clean.

i didnt hear any abnormal noises since i installed this brakes. i have'nt done any sudden or abrupt braking at all.

Could this an indication of a bad caliper pistons? Any ideas wat could be causing this?

thanks in advance guys,
Al

Did you grease the slide pins?

if you did not sand the hub down where the disc mounts then you may have some rust under the disc . this will cause the disc to have what is called runout and will cause the disc to wear uneven .......

hope you get it worked out .. good luck

I disassembled my brakes agian today found that the lower slider pin isn't sliding freely compared to the upper one, the grease doesnt seem to stay inside the rubber boot. I cleaned it & tried putting some grease again, I hope this is going to work out fine. But if it doesnt, i'm thinking of getting a new caliper kit.

Anybody know how much is a new caliper Cdn $$ ?
