RKSport Pro Street Coilovers vs. Tein Basics
Wednesday, June 21, 2006 5:13 PM
Well its about time that i buy a new suspension to lower my car with the annoying wheelgap with my 18's. I was just wondering you guys thought about both setups. I know i want coilovers but i have a chance to get the Prostreets for a good price but then again i could save up a little bit more and get the Tein Basics. What do you guys recommend? I know its really up to me but i just want some good/bad comments about both setups.
thanks

i;d say tein on ONE and LARGE basis....

rksport has no more full coilover sets, B+G stopped producing em, so if you ever need a spare, parts, etc.....

tein would be the way to go...

that should be the deciding factor for most.

well............depends on your rim/tire size...................there is a big thread about the Teins rubbing on the rims/tires.

i personally have them w/ exel rh-5's in 18" w/ a 40mm offset and 225/40/18 and i can turn them down 3-4 turns from the top and then it hits the wheel and tire.

just so ya know

so there are absolutely no replacement parts for these at all? What are the chances of something going wrong with these? I heard this was a good kit

The chances arent extremely high that theyd be defective or bust on you right away, but if that ever DID happen youd be screwed.

Just play it safe and go with the TEINs.

As far as knowing if 215/35/18 will rub, the important thing we need to know is the offset of the wheel youre using. What offset SHOULD you have? Sorry I dont know exactly, but I can tell you that I dont have any problems with 225/45/17 and a 40mm offset.
